Efreet vs Charizard

Efreet
Charizard_Anime
Charizard is a pretty quick Fire type Pokemon so he will have to use his speed to claim a quick victory. The Efreet is powerful, but he is simply not fast enough to hurt Charizard and the Pokemon’s punishing Hyper Beam should be enough to finish him off. There are few opponents who can match up to this guy. Charizard wins.

    • Right, but that’s typically in the anime where they try to make Pokemon look weak at times. The manga and games are typically a better example of their feats. Efreet wouldn’t be able to catch Charizard

      • I think the anime is very generous. Pokémon are much bigger on television then they should be according to my Pokédex.
This is one of the battles where speed may not be the deciding factor. Efreet could melt a building if he wanted to, and by building, I mean like, a skyscraper sized tower.

      • I do love the anime portrayal of their speed and certain other factors, but in terms of solid feats, the other forms are typically better. Speed may not be The deciding factor, but it definitely helps. I believe that Charizard has the better array of attacks and his strength is comparable. Melting a building is good, but his attacks just won’t be able to hit Charizard, which is why speed is so important

      • Efreets attacks are devastating in a large enough area that he would not need to be faster. It is the same with Certain Dragon Ball Z characters and their ability to destroy planets. They do not need to be able to be faster than everyone to win.

      • Right, but it’s a huge difference between tower busting and planet busting. City busting would be enough to make Charizard sweat, but he can fly, which greatly helps. Flying plus super speed will almost always lead to victory. It’s not just the speed, but he can hit the Efreet from a distance with Hyper Beam to drain away his health.

      • Efreet can also fly, and his Guns ‘N Roses spell is much more powerful than a hyper beam, and it affects a much greater area, plus a hyper beam would force Charizard to use up another turn to recharge, since Efreet is durable enough to take it.

      • Well, another turn is pretty relative since this would be a real fight. It’s more like the anime where you fire it off and then keep on using other techniques. It’s true that Efreet can fly, but he’s just not as quick as Charizard so his spell will have a hard time even with the large area. Plus, Charizard can Mega Evolve and then his destructive abilities are very large in scale. I believe that a Hyper Beam in that state would end up being much stronger than the spell
