2015 in review

Another year has gone by! I almost forgot to upload this report, but I’ve just made it before the New Year! It’s been a blast folks and I aim to continue blogging for quite a while. This year saw a great reduction in my fights as I’ve been reviewing more lately, but I aim to have a better mix of reviews and battles for the New Year. The blog’s views have dropped considerably ever since the dreaded Olympics a few years back, but that’s fine. As I’ve been splitting my time here, playing video games, and starting to competitively play Super Smash, it may be for the best. My New Year’s goal will be to keep up at least 5 fights a week as well as a review for a nice mix. Shoutouts to Superduperawesomeguy, Sunite, and Strawberry for sticking with this site for so long so check out their blogs. Superduperawesomeguy’s blog talks all things superheroes. Whether it be comic reviews, trailer analysis, or character bios, he’s always got an article ready. Sunite’s the resident anime expert and he has an article up every day. In particular, the Bleach chapter threads are always very busy and you can have a blast discussing the latest chapters. Sunite stays current with the new anime each season so you can always ask him for recommendations. Strawberry posts minicomics that she reads online and discusses them while also keeping up with an ongoing fanfic about Pokemon and the journey that follows. She also keeps you updated on the blog’s current status.

Random and jhg195 are also top commentors, but I have no blogs to link for them D: I appreciate the ongoing comments guys and it’s always great to have some discussion on the blog.

I also appreciate the battle requests that I have gotten with hundreds of them still in the vault. I have them all written down so you can be sure that they will all be posted at some point. Happy New Year folks! πŸ™‚

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 250,000 times in 2015. If it were an exhibit at the Louvre Museum, it would take about 11 days for that many people to see it.

  1. Wahoo, awesome review! I loved it when you had new and fresh fights, some were very wierd combinations, but others were epic. Would love to see that in the new year! πŸ˜€

    • I’ll definitely try to keep a nice mix of epic and krazy πŸ˜‰ Day’s halfway over here, almost time for New Year’s to start! I already went out and bought the cake, cookies, and ice cream so we’re nearly set for some serious eats.

    • Don’t know how this comment got lost in the shuffle, but likewise. I hope that you’ve had a great start to your 2016 as well. It’s a whole new year of possibility and excitement!

  2. Interesting report. I noticed how that the battles you post is really fun to read. So far my favorite would be the Esdeath vs Bardock battle. Keep it up for 2016!

    • Will do! The blog’s started off a little sluggishly in 2016, but things should be coming back in full force very quickly. More anime fighters are definitely around the corner.

      • Certainly a lot of options out there, but I’ll try to intoduce some anime fighters who haven’t appeared on the blog yet as well as some of the classics like Goku and Naruto. Of course, if you ever want to see a specific fight, feel free to request it and I’ll have the fight up as soon as possible.

      • Btw, who’s your avatar? From a glance it looked like Kirito, but upon further inspection I don’t think that she is the sword wielding hero. Looks a little similar to Lenalee as well, but I’m thinking that I’m just totally off the mark here

      • My avatar is Mikado from the anime Durarara!!. I used to have a Kirito avatar but I changed it to this while watching this anime. I take it that your’s from Mega Man.

      • Gotcha, I’ve definitely heard of that anime even though I haven’t seen it yet. Yes, this is Bass from the Mega Man EXE part of the franchise.

      • To be honest, I heard of Mega Man but never played the classic games. I only played a little bit of X from the PSP Maverick Hunters.

      • The old games are a blast, but if you’ve played Maverick Hunters, then you’ve basically experienced what it’s all about. Of course, the series has many different gameplay styles throughout the franchise including the 2D aerial combat and 3D platforming games so there’s really something for everyone with the series. The classic style is probably my favorite although I haven’t gotten a chance to play the famous 3D Legends games yet.

      • I would like to play the classic version if I could. I hear that the game is hard but pretty fun classic game. I heard that Legends was good one. I remember they used to show an anime on Saturdays called Mega Man NT Warrior.

      • If you’ve still got a Gamecube, I highly recommend the anniversary game. It brings the first 8 Mega Man games along with the two Arcade fighting titles. The show was definitely a blast and NT Warrior is where Bass made his animated debut and got to wreck everyone! NT Warrior is still one of the best anime out there and even got a movie that was really cool.

      • Well, I only have the Wii. I still have a Gamecube but it’s put away somewhere. I say that classic game collection is worth it. Personally, I always thought that Mega Man was the Capcom version of Sonic the Hedgehog. Both are blue and they are pretty cool heroes.

      • Plus the Wii is backwards compatible so you could probably use that if necessary, but the new remake (With less games tho) of the collection is coming out soon so that should be fun as well. Mega Man and Sonic are definitely both cool characters, which is why it’s so cool that they can now fight each other inside of Super Smash Bros. Throw in their comic crossovers and it’s amazing what you can do nowadays that you couldn’t 20 years ago. We have a lot more crossovers now and that’s pretty awesome.

      • I really want to read the crossover comic of Sonic and Mega Man. I hear that it was a fun mix and it appears that they made another cross over but this time it has Sega and Capcom characters. I am probably one of the few to have the Wii and not Wii U lol.

      • Yes, I definitely want to read it too. I’ve only read the epilogue of the event as I’m still waiting to read the trade, but I have heard that it was quite good. You need to trade up to the Wii U so then we can play in Sm4sh. Truly the greatest game of all time! The Wii was awesome though, Brawl, Smash Up, The Lost Story, and many other great titles.
