The Basilisk who fought Morbius is a powerful demon who can fire off energy blasts and has the usual super strength and durability. The Basilisk we see in the various legends is sort of like a chimera as it has parts from various animals. It can also turn you to stone with a glance based on the interpretation. While that is a useful ability it is not as good as having energy blasts which will also act as a screener to that ability so the demon wouldn’t get hit. From there his superior power will win the day. Basilisk (Morbius) wins.
