Pohatu is pretty tough, but now he must face Brock! Brock is a pretty tough trainer and he has some tough pokemon at his disposal! His Geodude is tough when it counts and you just know that Zubat will have fun spamming his sound waves. Pohatu may not be able to fend them all off. Brock wins.
Of all Brock’s Pokémon, you bring up Zubat and Geodude for this? Geodude would be useless against Pohatu, as a Toa of Stone Pohatu could control his movements. In terms of power, his Onix (or Golem, Omastar, Kabutops, Rhyperior or such from his World Tournament team) would be better choices even if he were only to use rock types. As for Zubat, he’s weak to rock and not all that strong. If he’s evolved to Crobat by now he’d have a genuine chance due to the sheer speed and power his final stage of evolution gives him, were it not for the fact Pohatu is even faster due to the Kanohi Pakari Nuva (the Nuva Mask of Speed). With the powers Pohatu has at his disposal (don’t forget he also has access to Akamai and Flight Armour forms and a spaceship) and the sheer speed granted by his mask, Brock would be hard-pressed to get even one good hit in
Yeah, Brock has a Crobat so that should help. He also has a Marshstomp, Vulpix, and Fortress so shake things up. Tyranitar’s also a pretty strong force for Brock’s team.
Pohatu is strong, but since Geodude has a will of his own and all, I’m not sure if Pohatu would be able to control him. Zubat would be more effective from a distance using Screech, Leer, and other attacks to decrease Pohatu’s stats and such. And of course as Crobat he’s even more deadly.
Again, I think the sheer numbers would be the problem for Pohatu here. He’s fast, but some of these guys are pretty fast in their own right too and eventually Pohatu would probably fall
He couldn’t so much control Brock’s Rock types as throw them around with his Rock powers.
Brock has a Tyranitar? And a Marshtomp (it would be even better as Swampert, but there you go)? Tyrantoar is very strong, but he’s slow, especially as he’s a rock type and Pohatu could at least slow him with his Rock powers (although Tyranitar’s probably just strong enough to move despite the Rock Control). At that speed, he would stand no chance of hitting someone as fast as Pohatu, and his Sand Stream can’t damage Pohatu, leaving a sandstorm around that’ll wear down Marshtomp, Vulpix and Crobat. Marshtomp would be useful as Pohatu can’t swim and dislikes water, but he’s not fast enough to do anything much before Pohatu gets to him (seeing as he’s a water user, he’d be Pohatu’s first target). Vulpix would be pretty useless in this circumstance, as you can’t burn stone or Protodermis, and Forretress would be defeated if Pohatu became Akamai and used Fire attacks but otherwise could be a problem (although Pohatu doesn’t kick him at the others as a projectile).
Yeah, in the anime he got the Marshstomp

And in one of the games he has a Tyranitar.
Again, Pohatu definitely puts up a great fight, but I think the sheer numbers would get in his way. They’d weaken him enough that the final ones may win. Brock has at least 30 pokemon I believe and they are extremely potent as a team. Since Marshtomp is the biggest threat, Brock’s other pokemon would also try protecting him
If they tried, defending Marshtomp, hecould use that against them. He is very good at kicking rocks at things, after all… although on the other hand, Marshtomp isn’t Brock’s only Water type; he also has Omastar, Kabutops and Relicanth from his Heartgold and Soulsilver Rematch team for that.
By the way, have you read the latest Instruments of Time chapter?
Yeah, that would also be a tough strategy for Brock’s pokemon to pull off.
Not yet, so I’ll go check it out now 🙂
