Pohatu vs Gali

You’d think that Gali would win this right away since water tends to trump ground, but that’s why you shouldn’t judge a match by its title and pics! Pohatu’s element is stone, not ground. He’s a skilled warrior and he has his blaster at the ready. Gali controls the water and also has a blaster, but I don’t think it will be enough for her to win this round.

Pohatu is extremely fast and I don’t think Gali will be able to keep up with him. She can summon large amounts of water which would be pretty deadly for Pohatu, but he can use his twin propellers to stay away from the water while he blasts her from afar. If need be he can possibly run across the water with his speed, but it most likely won’t be an issue as he should have won before that point. Pohatu wins.

  1. Not sure if you’ve done all the research Here. Pohatu’s awesome and were it not for the fact that in water he’s pretty much useless I’d give him the win, but he has a fear of water (like most Stone toa and Matoran), he sinks in water and would drown easily. Although then again, his speed is probably enough to get to Gali before she calls a tidal wave on him. Plus they’ve both got blasters.

But most of all, Pohatu’s element is STONE, not ground/earth. May sound like a trivial difference, but in a Bionicle context it is quite significant as earth is a seperate element (and very much Onua’s thing)

I would correct the element, but you may be right about who wins this round. I think maybe you should add a little more comparison of abilities here, it makes the point more clear. A lot of your fights seem to give only a brief set of pros to the winner, and not much insight into why they’d actually win the fight. Anyway, not meaning to complain or anything, just thought I’d share an opinion. I know you post a LOT of fights and it might be awkward to go into detail on all of them, maybe just the close ones? d

    • Oh, I never knew that there was much of a difference between Stone and Ground in Bionicle universe. Well, Pohatu is typically afraid of water, but in a life or death situation I think he’d be able to overcome that fear. Like if you’re afraid of closed spaces, but you need to go through one to rescue someone you would find hidden courage to do so. So, in this fight of high stakes and rep, he may be able to pull through.

Yeah, longer summaries would definitely be good for some of them. I know what you mean, the big blowouts (Like Ant vs Godzilla) wouldn’t need a longer summary but something like (Yusuke vs Tsuna) may need a larger one. I will definitely edit the summary though to mention that his element is stone so thanks for the heads up
