The Index manga is now upon us. To an extent, you can certainly tell that it’s a bit of a cash in. As long as we can get some good fights that should be fine so long as the manga keeps it real. It’s off to an okayish start and the horror esque moment to end the volume was nice. We already had a fire monster fight so that’s a good lead off. The next volume will see the debut of a pretty powerful fighter. So long as the series doesn’t fall to any big negatives, the manga will be a good action title. I’ll review it once the series is over.

A few bloggers and I have had the idea of doing a collaborative discussion on light novels on a shared google.doc and this is an invitation if you would like to be included. Needless to say there would be some preparation needed for this conversation such as organizing a shared google.doc which everyone can access and having a short list of light novels for everyone to have read beforehand so that each of us can pitch in on the conversation’s focus e.g. genre, first or third person perspectives, artwork, size, style etc.
If you are interested please reply to this email with a list of light novels and key focuses that can be compiled to make a consensus from and also forward this to anyone you think would be interested in this conversation. When enough bloggers are involved we can decide on a necessary reading time and a date and time for the conversation that everyone can be on board with.
I don’t think I would have the time for it, but I hope that you guys are able to succeed.
