Superman is back against one of his deadliest foes ever! Darkseid has the omega beam which can destroy most opponents in a single shot. His power is just too great to be matched by most heroes. Of course Superman is no ordinary hero. He’s one of the most popular heroes of all time! Plus with great popularity comes great power. Superman has 1 Million Form among others. Darkseid also has some great power, like Brainiac Tech Form from the JLU.
Darkseid just lacks the speed that Superman has. Superman also beat him up pretty fast when he was at full power. That’s something that will never be forgotten. Darkseid has still had his share of wins to be fair.
Usually he wins thanks to brute power, but when Superman’s using his speed at his best he really shouldn’t lose. Darkseid just can’t keep up with that kind of speed.Darkseid may have taken a loss in this match, but he’ll be back. Superman wins.

It depends on how you look at it I guess. I’d say that a cheap shot is whenever you weren’t expecting to be attacked.

Darkseid is fast, but Superman wasn’t expecting a fight at that point. I think he thought Darkseid would calmly explain the situation or something like that…not his smartest moment, but still.
Superman said “I didn’t even see him move” This means Darkseid blitzed him

No, reflexes increase when you’re in combat mode. Imagine being back in the Dodgeball room. If you’re spaced out and then someone throws the ball, you have to quickly try to react to it. If you’re already prepared for the ball, then you’ll be set to counter it.
That would be because you weren’t looking at the guy or the ball. If you look at the guy and the ball and your not in “combat mode” then your reflexes don’t change
Your defenses are still lowered. If you’re not expecting a punch, then you’re probably going to get wrecked by it as opposed to if you were on guard.

Dude…that would blow his cover. You’d have to be an incredibly strong human to break free from Darkseid’s grasp and he’s not ignorant. He’d then know that his teleporter actually did succeed in bringing Superman to his planet.

The New 52? Because Superman was definitely ready to keep on fighting if he didn’t have to hold back because the others were there! That being said, the fight was super inaccurateanyway.

I believe so. At the very least, it took more effort than one would expect. He has lost to humans several times and been humiliated by monsters, but DCAU Superman really brings the heart to the character.
