Destoroyah is supposedly one of Godzilla’s strongest opponents! He’s somewhere up there, but not quite as powerful as you’d expect from a Big G enemy! Godzilla could take him out pretty quickly. Destoroyah has many different forms, but in the end none of them can take down Godzilla. Godzilla has faced stronger and faster monsters in the past and always winds up on top. He is Godzilla, King of the Monsters after all! Destoroyah drops down the blog ranks with this loss. Godzilla wins.
I actually have to disagree with you here. Did you not see the movie? Destroyah had Godzilla against the ropes the entire time, and killed his son. Destroyah was battling the toughest Godzilla of the 90s. Burning Godzilla, whose atomic breath was at its prime. Destroyah took many of these atomic blasts head on without serious damage. Most of the time a red atmoic blast from Godzilla means death against other monsters (SpaceGodzilla, etc.) He was slow. But he had the power, endurance and durability to back it up. Plus if he was damaged he could separate into his aggregate forms and then recombine into its final form to fully recover, stronger than ever. Could not truly be defeated without extreme temperatures (Super X3 Freeze cannons.) To me it seemed Destroyah gave Godzilla a tougher fight than any other monster, until Keizer Ghidorah came along in Final Wars. King Ghidorah, MechaGodzilla and Space Godzilla were also tough. But neither could last against the power of Burning Godzilla or Keizer Godzilla. They fought weaker Godzillas. Destroyah certainly did put up a splendid fight, and nearly won had it not been for the Super X3.
I saw the film, but to be fair I was extremely tired (It was the final film in a 3 Godzilla film marathon I was doing) So I may be underrating him. Destoroyah was pwning Godzilla for a while, but I found it was partially because Godzilla wasn’t using his abilities to their fullest again. Godzilla should have spammed his beam a bit more. I found that Destoroyah should have been too slow to hit Big G. His flying form was a bit faster, but Godzilla should have been able to hit him in midair. Of course for this match both fighters are composite so Godilla has access to his Keizer Form and his Kiryu Form. With Kiryu he gets a lot of weapons including the Absolute Zero Cannon. That should be enough for him to take down Destoroyah.
But you’re right, I need to rewatch the film at some point. Hope you enjoy your stay at the blog 🙂
Already been done in a movie and Godzilla rekt him.
True enough thanks to his Burning Mode. Destoroyah is still one of the strongest Kaiju opponents though.
