Superman vs Jean Grey

Jean Grey is a pretty powerful telepath and in Phoenix Force is also deadly, but she’s up against the Man of Steel! With one punch he can destroy whole planets and his speed is legendary! Let’s not forget all of his other abilities as well! Jean Grey drops down the ranks with this loss. Superman wins.

  1. Jean grey can destroy planets with the phoenix force. And people vote phoenix so phoenix the omega level mutant and the most powerful xmen wins!

    • Jean Grey is definitely an impressive fighter, but Superman has shown that he can take out whole solar systems with a sneeze. I don’t think that Jean Grey can match that feat

      • how can super idiot win? He has no psychic defenses. She could destroy him even without the phoenix force. There is only one reason why superman is so crazy powerful: $ for DC.

      • Superman’s too fast for telepathy. That only works at the speed of thought after all. Superman’s my favorite comic book character so I’m glad that he’s tough!

      • You don’t think Jean has such a feat? Think again, Jean held the marvel 616 UNIVERSE (Notice BIGGER than SOLAR SYSTEMS) at the palm of her hands and altered its course. Of course Jean has just as amazing feats. Superman can move planets, he can destroy solar systems, awe how cute. Jean had telekinetic control of the mainstream marvel universe, and healed it.

      • You don’t think Jean has a feat as impressive as that one? Think again, Dark Phoenix destroyed a solar system killing 5 billion people like nothing. Oh and Superman has destroyed solar systems? You don’t think Jean can match that feat? Think again, your superman feat is a cute Micky mouse ride compared to Jean, who had complete atomic control of the entire 616 universe at the palm of her hands and she healed it by altering its course-warping reality. So yeah the feat you provided just makes superman look like a warm and fuzzy teddy bear against a cosmic entity.

      • Jean Grey is impressive and she’s done a lot, but those feats aren’t terribly impressive combat wise. Destroying the solar system was great, but Superman could do that with a sneeze. Altering reality does not really help in a fight either. I just don’t see Jean Grey winning since Superman has the massive speed advantage and a solid punch could end the fight

      • Superman sneezing and destroying a solar system is not as impressive as having a whole universe at the palm of your hands telekinetically atomically controlling it and with a possible sneeze wipe out the whole universe, and alter events. Jean could just alter it so Superman never even existed, and atomically shred him into pieces. Superman is impressive, but having a universe, multiple solar systems in your hands is more impressive than anything superman did.

      • Jean Grey’s feat is impressive, but nothing that would worry Superman. She can’t just shrink him along with the universe due to the nature of the fight and how powerful he is. When they are of equal size, she won’t be able to keep up with his speed or endure his power. She would also not be able to make it so that he never existed because such a power isn’t really believable. It has happened, but it wouldn’t work against Superman

      • Phoenix can just destroy things be shaking her hands. She wouldn’t even notice Superman’s existence after she erased him from ever even being born. It’s possible, she’s warped reality before, superman doesn’t have any such feats to prove his immunity to reality warping. The Phoenix force hasn’t lost to anything….Jean merged with it. And sups has. Jean will just erase him, the Phoenix can travel at unusually fast speeds a,d create warp holes to travel from one place in the universe to the other. I mean she had the universe at the palm of her hands and had complete telekinetic control of it, Phoenix has way more power than superman. He’s a fly trying to fight the holder of universes and warper of reality. She’ll just swat him and the fight would end.

      • Your a fool Jean casually blinks Superman in and out of existence and Superman was being amped by a 3rd party when he sneezed out tha solar system nice try

      • Hey, insults only weaken your argument….:P

Jean can’t blink Superman out of existence. I did give it a nice try, but Superman’s battle against Doomsday really explains why he wins

  2. He does not win. Jean Grey’s battle and disinfecting of a whole universe at the palm of her hands explain why she wins. And also her healing the entire nexus of all realities the M’Krann Crystal. And also her ultimate battle against apocalypse, and also her battle against the celestials in which she burnt off the hand of the celestial judge, her undoing of Wanda Maximoff’s spell, her victory over the entire Shi’Ar multiple times. Jean will erase superman from ever having existed…..Superman doesn’t have any greater feats, especially none beyond White Phoenix of the Crown’s feats. You’re just a fanboy refusing to see reality and you create arguments.

    • Those feats are good, but Superman’s are just better. His are more physical and he has the speed to back it up. Jean Grey won’t have time to do any of that because Superman will have already won the fight!

      • Phoenix has better feats, no feat of his stands a chance against White Phoenix of the Crown, her feats are at a universal scale. Jean Grey also has speed, so fast that she was able to go from earth to a completely different solar system in no time through a warp hole. She has complete telekinetic control of everything at a subatomic level, she can just manipulate the atoms around her to slow down anything within her radius, and she would defeat superman before he thinks about it through her telepathy. All she really needs is krypton too to weaken him, the Phoenix has shown no weaknesses, so yeah the 100% Phoenix, Jean Grey, as white Phoenix of the crown can easily erase superman from ever existing before he even existed as she has done so many times. So yeah….superman doesn’t have any impressive feats.

      • Superman is likely on a universal scale as well. He is massively FTL and his attacks have a lot of power. Isn’t sneezing away a solar system an impressive feat? Jean Grey is powerful and her FLIGHT speed is pretty good. In combat, Superman is still a lot faster and his raw power is also on a different level. I just don’t see her taking a win this time.

  3. Phoenix for sure is on a Multiversal (bigger than Universal) scale; unlike Superman. No, sneezing away a solar system makes me yawn when I think of Jean Grey holding the universe at the palm of her hands and through telekinetic god-hood altering the past, present and future. There’s nothing that suggests that superman is faster…Jean Grey is raw power, she held the universe at the palm of her hand, she is the very existence of the Marvel Universes; without her the Marvel Universes die, as it has been shown. Jean is way beyond Superman’s “raw power” because Jean is pure raw power. I don’t see superman winning here ever, and neither do the majority of people who voted.

    • We’ve never seen Jean Grey exhibit any good speed feats in combat. She has good travel feats while in the Phoenix Form, but she can’t fight at such a high speed. Look at how the Xmen handled her and how the Shiar took her down. The Phoenix grants incredible strength to the human vessal, but heart ultimately wins battles. Superman has tons of combat feats and they are better than astral feats or crossing dimension ones. Jean Grey’s feats are more meta and not as impressive.

      • Yes, we have, well, you haven’t because you don’t read the comics but Jean has great feats. She stopped a Shi’Ar bullet from killing professor Xavier, she dove into the sun once with her sheer psychic power, she transferred her self into Emma frosts body faster than the speed of light, and she created warp holes to travel faster, she has control of atoms at a subatomic level which is why she can do virtually anything. The Shi’Ar never took her down. Please point to me an issue in which the Shi’Ar took her down. In the Dark Phoenix saga, she killed them all, and killed herself because no one could stop her. In new x-men’s he bested the Shi’Ar in hand to hand, in Phoenix Endsong she destroyed their mothership with a flick of her wrist as white Phoenix of the crown. Her alternate young self, in All New C-Men she defended e guardians of the galaxy and defeated all of the imperial Shi’Ar guard, including gladiator. They’re no match for Jean grey as show once too many times. Superman doesn’t have any feats at are at a cosmic level like Jean, Jean is the Phoenix force and the force is her. She’s a cosmic entity now, and she lives on in her cosmic form. Superman is dead. Again people now you’re full of crap which is why no one sides with you as the polls show.

      • I read some comics, but I prefer to stay away from the modern comics unless they’re epic and kid friendly. Jean Grey has some epic feats, but nothing close to Superman’s levels. In the Dark Phoenix arc, they blasted her with a cannon that took her down once and for all. She never stood a chance!

This scene may ring a bell as well

Look…I have nothing against good ole Jean Grey, but she’s just not ready to take down Superman. Superman has tons of feats. Remember when he kept up with the Flash and took down Bane in a single hit? I just went and voted for Superman so now he’s only down by a little over a hundred votes. That’s not bad if you really think about it. Superman is the strongest comic book character in existence/debate

      • I can obviously tell you didn’t read “The Dark Phoenix Saga” storyline, because no one blasted Jean away. She blasted herself away, and it wasn’t once and for all…she came back plenty of times after that…and more powerful than when she killed herself, you idiot.

Here is the full scan of that picture you posted, Jean killed herself the Shi’Ar have never defeated her, she killed herself…

Jean’s second victory over the Shi’Ar after her resurrection after she killed herself in the Dark Phoenix Saga:

Jean Destroys the Shi’Ar’s mothership and a blackwhole, which fyi sucks things in at a faster pace than the speed of light…Jean Destroyed that with a flick of her wrist.

The shi’ar taken down yet once again by Jean Grey!

      • It’s ironic because I did read the arc though. More than once thanks to trade paperbacks! It was the Shiar’s weapon and she just activated it. Trust me, the Shiar basically defeated her. I will admit that she could crush the Shiar with ease (minus Gladiator) when in her Phoenix Form. She is definitely a foe to be reckoned with and it’s no stretch to say that she is easily one of the strongest Xmen of all time. I have nothing but respect for her, but you have to realize that a few good feats isn’t enough to stop Superman!

      • Oh, and that movie feat you posted doesn’t count because that is not a possibility with the comic book version of Jean Grey from the 616 universe. Logan wasn’t able to defeat her in battle. She let herself be killed by him, but she never lost to him in battle. Actually, she defeated him and he knew that she was capable of killing him and acknowledged that many times. Oh and this is the current version of superman:

Superman (Clark Kent) current versions…all dead:

Jean Grey in her current form, White Phoenix of the Crown:

And of course I know you don’t know what’s going on in those two scans because you don’t read comic books, let me explain, Jean has total telekinetic control of the marvel universe at the palm of her hands and through her telekinetic god-hood she warped reality.

      • True, the movie part was a little sketchy. Now, the three Superman moments were pretty sad for Superman, but even the best hero can lose to a gunner once in a while. He made sure to bounce back from it. As for the Phoenix scene (I do read comic books though, just not that one…) that’s impressive, but the guys in the background looked sketchy. Still, that’s a lot of power and yet..I don’t think it would help much in combat. Superman packs a punch himself and he could probably hold the universe if he ever grew to that size. He can still sneeze a few planets away to delay Jean’s plans 😉

      • I’m just proving you wrong over and over again. You’re like “minus gladiator jean can’t beat him” and what happened bam, I showed you a scan of jean defeating gladiator…

      • It never gets old I’ll admit, but she only got a good hit in, I didn’t see him losing consciousness. Gladiator is very powerful and he’s one of the few characters who could last a few seconds against Superman. I think that Gladiator may have the slight edge against Jean Grey, but it’s just because he’s a total combat type. He’s built for fighting and he could event take on Thanos and Black Bolt. Trust me, Gladiator doesn’t mess around! He may look like he’s on the losing side, but he could really take the win here!

    • No he doesn’t I already proved you wrong with a scan. Don’t base a win/lose on your unsupported opinion, actually let me get more scans to prove that Jean Grey owned him over and over again…

      • Lol, I know that he’s the punching bag of the Shiar when it comes to fighting Jean Grey. It is just my epic opinion that he is stronger than he looks. Think of it like Batman vs Bane in the film. Bane won the first round, but I would argue that Batman should have won. Should have/Could Have/Would Have>>>>What did happen in some occasions. I admit that Jean Grey is very powerful though.

      • After Jean put down Gladiator, he got up and fully charged at her and she charged back at him:

After that Gladiator fell hard onto the ground barely being able to get up…Jean was fine. 🙂

      • Well, I know that Gladiator basically admits that he fears Jean Grey there, but he does say that the fight is still unfinished. He’s ready for round 2! 😉 That being said, it was a pretty impressive charge and I didn’t know that her physical strength was that high. Her abilities are definitely impressive to be sure and I can’t wait to read those issues when I can get ahold of the trade.

      • Yeah, no he’s not ready for round 2 and it didn’t happen because the Shi’Ar didn’t want it to go any further, they knew that Jean Grey would kill them as she almost did in the Dark Phoenix Saga…oh let me post a scan of the time Jean defeated them all at the same time…

Gladiator and all of them down yet once again….

      • Well, she kinda sorta won there, but it was more of a surprise hit. The Shiar didn’t want Gladiator to fight anymore, but he was definitely willing to do so. He would have definitely put up an admirable fight and that’s why we can’t count him out so quickly. That guy’s like Marvel’s version of Superman, which is why he’s so powerful!

      • The All-New team from the past are surprised, because they never say 616 Jean Grey, and the 616 Jean Grey didn’t live such a thing, until she fully merged with the Phoenix force. But no, they’re not surprised because issues before that they faced the alternate teen jean’s future, and she was immensely powerful. So powerful that she killed herself when she overloaded herself with her raw power.

      • I think I remember that part. She had a red cloak on and a lot of scars right? That was definitely intriguing, but they still seem pretty surprised in that scan. Even the Guardians are having trouble comprehending the situation and those guys are (self proclaimed) pros. Destroying one’s self because of too much power is definitely a sad way to go. Luckily, Superman’s indestructible 😉

      • No, she wasn’t wearing any red cloak and there weren’t any scars involved, and the guardians of the galaxy weren’t present. And again they’re just amazed because this version of Jean from an alternate universe that was following the same continuity as that of the 616 universe, unlocked a power no one ever saw before. Not because they underestimated her, everyone in the marvel universe knows about Jean’s unparalleled power. Yes, that alternate future Jean overloaded herself with too much power. But luckily for Jean she still lives on as a cosmic entity in her 616 version and she’s fully merged with the phoenix force. Superman is dead….he’s buried six feet under and exists in no other way but buried in the ground.

      • The Guardians were right there…in the scans that you showed. That’s what I was referring too. Superman lives in some of the continuities. Remember when he bounced back from his loss against Cheetah? I’m pretty sure I remember the future Jean Grey having a cloak, but I didn’t read the arc so I wouldn’t know. I do know that the Guardians were present in some of the recent comics like with the Shiar though. Jean Grey is tough in any form, but not tough enough for this round.

  4. All three main versions of superman are dead:

Superman died in Infinite Crisis #7 here’s the scan:

His other main alternate self from earth 1 died in Superman Annual #12

Followed by his Earth 2 #1 death.

So clearly he isn’t indestructible people have killed him easily in combat.

Jean Grey a.k.a Phoenix Force a.k.a White Phoenix of the Crown is physically dead…she died in New X-Men #152, however, she evolved to become a cosmic entity. She lives not in a human physical incarnation but as a cosmic superior being who’s so powerful she can hold the universe at the palm of her hands. So yeah, that’s way cooler and more powerful than a dead man like clark kent.

    • I prefer this one.

Superman is still indestructible though, he was just not durable enough to live through such powerful attacks. Holding a whole universe is good, but Superman’s an expert sneezer and he’s massively FTL. Being a cosmic entity won’t really be enough to slow him down this time.

      • No, another proof that you don’t read the comics. The guardians were not present with future Jean grey, they were only present during “The Trial of Jean Grey”. And nope during “The battle of the Atom” Jean doesn’t have a cloak, she wears xorn’s mask to keep her unlimited power in check. If Jean sneezed on that universe she’d destroy the universe not a solar system. Jean eats stars for lunch, and uses their power long before they even exist…you know those things that superman drains power from. So what about “bounding back” Jean has done that literally about 20-30 times in many continuities and like more than 15 times in the main continuity. A cosmic being is far above a mere extraterrestrial like superman, she’s way above his level of comprehension she’ll just erase him from ever existing before he existed….
        Superman stands no chance.

      • Like I said, I didn’t read those comments and I had been referring to the trial for the Guardians. She was totally wearing a cloak because I remember the mask. Either way, Superman’s got this. Think about it, Superman even renounced his Americanship to show the world how tough he is. Jean Grey isn’t getting past him and it’s all thanks to his power and speed.

    • That is not a solid argument. Again, during the Trial of Jean Grey she wasn’t wearing any masks nor a cloak. Future Jean was not present in that story. This would be so much easier if you read the comics. Renouncing to an American citizenship is not something to be amused about, people do it left right up and down every day. I’m renouncing to mine too someday. But that’s beside the point. The thing is that that is not a solid argument. Jean has way more power and speed than Superman which is why she takes this easily by far. She’s so fast she can manipulate timelines from distant futures and pasts, as we have seen before. Your argument basically is “oh he wins because he’s superman” which isn’t a solid…or I should say, it isn’t even an argument at all.

      • I’ll get back to you on that >_> Working on a review at the moment, but I don’t want you to think that I forgot about this comment since it might take some time to get back to it. (Definitely sometime on Monday at the latest)

I’d recommend staying an American though..

      • This outfit right?

That’s totally a cloak so my Future Jean argument is valid.

Superman is much stronger and faster than Jean. She has good travel feats, but she’s not impressive in actual combat while Superman has been shown to fight at actual FTL speeds. He’s traded blows with Shazam and Darkseid in the past. Manipulating the timelines won’t really help in this match and she has no durability feats to suggest that she could endure a punch from Superman.

      • I’m not an American, but you people in England definitely should take some rhetorical classes, so you can avoid logical fallacies and create logical concise arguments. For example, Jean is not earring cloak, and the outfit she’s wearing is that of Xorn’s, and that doesn’t make your argument valid in anyway, because your point is beside the point (beside the point fallacy). Jean grey is far beyond superman’s league. Jean Grey does have speed feats FYI, again an example would be when she stopped an extraterrestrial bullet from hitting Xavier, and in an alternate universe she destroyed all of the universe, everyone, including quicksilver, and everyone who can run. She has total telekinetic control of everything via atomically manipulation. Before superman even knows his atoms will be arranged differently, or she’ll manipulate atoms in a way to slow down the time surrounding her. In the White Room, she’s immune to any physical attacks so it’s not like superman can just get a punch is, she’s not a physical being, she’s an abstract, a cosmic entity, not physical. So yeah that pretty much voids superman as a whole. How could manipulating timelines not help? Gosh you’re so stupid. She goes into the future, past, and present and multiverses (which superman can’t do because he’s not multiversal like Jean) and manipulates them at will. She can just make it so that he never existed, millions of years before the existence of his planet and civilization. Much faster than the speed of light, or any superman feat.

      • I’m in America though, not England! My arguments may not be that logical or concise, but they are effective. She was still basically wearing a cloak and I needed to verify that.

The problem is that Jean Grey’s feats sound a lot more impressive than they actually are. She stopped a bullet and she blew people up, but those are abilities that wouldn’t do well against Superman. She couldn’t blow him up from the inside out and she couldn’t catch him. Superman could resist her telekinesis and the White Room has its limits. She can definitely still be hurt by Superman. Abstracts are always weaker than physical beings.

Like I said, time travelling before the match started is basically a no go. What’s to stop Superman from going into the past as well if it was allowed. I’m still a Marvel genius as well as a DC one. I make the plays!

      • I’m not American though I can tell that in the UK they don’t teach about logical fallacies. You used the beside the point fallacy, the cloak means nothing and it doesn’t validate an argument. Secondly, you weren’t right either way because she isn’t wearing a cloak and the costume she’s wearing is that of Xorn. And thirdly, you haven’t read all about Jean, which is why your ignorance shows. Jean stopped an extraterrestrial bullet from killing Xavier how is that not a speed feat? And in an alternate universe she killed everyone and destroyed it, including all quicksilver and all of the fast people. Jean is a multiversal entity now, she is an abstract being nothing superman does will affect her because she’s abstract. Physicality is invalidated in the cosmic abstract world. He can touch her especially not in the white hot room. In the white hot room she can change the past present and future year before anything happens, so she can just erase superman and his entire civilization from existing before they even existed, meaning superman can’t do anything sour it because he doesn’t exist yet before she erases him from the future. Get it, I don’t think you will you aren’t smart enough. But hopefully you at least try to.

      • I’m not the brightest bulb in the factory, but I get by. That’s ultimately the important part you know….I responded to the alternate version of this comment though so I’ll keep this reply short. I tried, but my intelligence precedes me…

  5. I have seen every comment that was posted and I am torn. Both are extremely powerful Marvel Multiverse entities, but I’d have to go with Jean. She is, after all, the Phoenix. SuperMan never blew away a universe just by sneezing. PC SuperMan did. (They did not examine this to full extent in the death battle) He was re-made in the 40’s or 50’s and named Crisis SuperMan. The superman before that, was PRE Crisis. aka, PC. It’s like MegaMan and Mega Man. Even if you decide not to do this, still Jean wins against both forms. Have you SEEN what Jean can do in the comics? Great, superman survived 15 stars exploding. Jean eats stars for breakfast. Literally. Yes you heard me, LITERALLY. She has devoured a star on her DP form before and could do so again, killing billions of people. There are a hundred and one ways Jean would kick Super-Man’s *** in this battle.
    1. Erase him from existence.
    2. Devour the solar system and him with it
    3. Project an image into his consciousness of him dying and make it stay there.
    4. Turn into DP form and crush him with sheer psychic willpower. (Better psonic powers in DP form)
    5. Battle SuperMan with fists and legs, that feat with Apocalypse should tell you all you need to know.
    6. If Superman did win in any way, then destroy that future of reality and time travel back until she finds one that she wins in and stays in it. (did this in DP form)
    7. She creates a new future where she beats SM.
    8. Rearrange SM’s molecular structure, with no organs or no legs or feet or something.
    9. Destroy the entire Multiverse (Was stated that she could do this in regular P form.
    10. Mind controls SM to destroy himself
Must I go on? The point is that Phoenix would obliterate Superman into nothingness. All these reasons that I stated are valid, and she has done so much, unless you can find perfect counter arguments for each of my reasons, I’m staying strong with Grey. Gosh, look at the votes!! Nearly 75% for Jean. I can show scans for all of these and you should do more research on your characters before declaring the winner. Please change it so Jean wins in description.

    • Trust me, the votes are more lopsided than they look since 90% of Superman’s votes came from me! I always do research for my fights, but I didn’t even need that much here. I’m very familiar with the feats from both fighters. I’ve seen the Phoenix and Dark Phoenix Sagas in both the comics and the show. Then I read about Jean Grey’s White Phoenix abilities as well. I think it’s still safe to say that Superman wins.

      1. Not Valid. Superman’s will power is strong enough to stop that
      2. Superman could be able to tank her flames and survive such an attack
      3. See number 1
      4. See Number 1. Superman’s physical power should help him as well.
      6. That would spell bad news for Jean Grey. She is very strong and she stood up to Gladiator, but Superman’s in a completely different league.
      7. Time Travel doesn’t work very well here since you can’t warp to before the fight.
      7. That wouldn’t be valid here
      8. Superman can resist with his strength of character
      9. Superman’s Heat Vision would block and overpower Jean Grey’s attempts
      10. See number 1

Superman is just too powerful. About separating Superman from his different eras…I don’t think so. He’s still the same guy with the same secret identity and everything. Megaman completely changed in the different continuities. Jean Grey has a lot of insane feats, but they are really all psychic or abstract. In a physical fight, she would get speedblitzed by Superman for a while.

  6. About separating Superman into different eras…I think so. You could say the same about MegaMan. His name is still MegaMan, no matter how you spell it. He is still a netnavi. He still is a good guy who saves the Net and real world from threats. He still looks exactly the same, except maybe the newer version is a bit more clear.
Willpower doesn’t matter. She is the strongest mutant alive, OMEGA-C5. That’s like saying, no Jean can’t punch Superman, his willpower is too strong. She could literally make the air bend, form a portal to Marvel Heaven, and boom. Erased out of existence. Voting multiple times for a character you like just so new people can go, oh SM’s not losing by THAT much. Say, oh I don’t know, 11 votes to 343?!?!?!?!?!? The white Phoenix abilities do not matter. They are just what Jean turned into after DP form, because sinister and Mastermind controlling her blah blah blah, long story short, she still has the same powers. The only thing that you could say “changed” about her is a. she’s not evil and b. She could go into the White Crown without being disintegrated by the heat. Also, in regular P form, she can form a Phoenix egg out of Zero point Energy, and heal in it. This egg is invincible. SM couldn’t even scratch it. Hey, I’ll even put out there that it’s safe to say that Superman Prime one Billion couldn’t destroy it. The only beings that technically could destroy it are Gods who can control the fabric of reality, and ones with perfect Ompotence, and all that. So if she is close to death, she just does that. BTW, I said perfect counter arguments. For literally half of the arguments, you reverted to #1. I can counter all your arguments.
#1. Willpower doesn’t matter. She is the strongest mutant alive, OMEGA-C5. That’s like saying, no Jean can’t punch Superman, his willpower is too strong.
#2. This isn’t a Jean throwing flames all over SM. This is her DEVOURING SM. Literally devouring him into her soul, along with an entire Solar System.
    #3. See #1
#4. See #1. His strength wouldn’t help him if his body collapses in itself. He could be a million times stronger than the Hulk, and it still wouldn’t do anything. Literally his body implodes.
#5. You skipped #6. This is one that has no flaws lol 🙂 Very confusing reading this. If you want me to believe you then do #6 too.
#6. I’ll give you THAT one. I didn’t expect you to go for that. Yes, in DP form she can go SS+ Speed but Superman can speed blitz her by a mile.
#7. She doesn’t need to warp before the fight, she can create another future whenever she wants. She has done so far when total anarchy went loose because of one thing that happened (Of course) Involving Scott. She then want back in time, and did different things therefore completely changing the course of the Multiverse.
#8. SM: I’m to strong for you! Because I have my sense of belief, you can’t do anything to me!! Jean: *removes all internal organ and severely damages arteries with a time stop* SM: Wait, where’s my heart? And my liver, and my–Arggh!! *Clutches chest and falls on ground* no! You tricked me! No! *collapses on ground* THE END
#9. She would destroy the entire Multiverse before SM had a chance to come up. He would shoot his lasers, they would get halfway to Jean and boom, Multiverse destroyed.
    #10. See #1.
You see, Jean will always win. And I will alway make counter arguments for your counter augments, and I know you’ll do the same. But my hope is, that if I show you enough liable evidence, then you will eventually change the out-put.

    • That’s true, but the original Mega Man isn’t even a netnavi. He was a robot and there have certainly been homages between them, but EXE is just so different. Perhaps I would feel differently if I had been more familiar with the classic series at the time, but it’s hard to see them as the same person.

Willpower is key. It’s why I don’t really put any credability in telepathy or reality warping on the blog. I just don’t see it going over so well for the user. Anyone can block a telepathic urge if they really want to. That’s always been my view of it. Warping someone straight to Heaven is a no go as well. She doesn’t have the authority to break in there and getting warped out of the battle is basically a cop out. Likewise, I don’t think you can just warp someone out of existence and crushing them from the inside out is tricky. It’s a battle between your mind and their will.

Well, I only do mass votes like that once in a while for the lolz. I don’t mind the fact that Superman’s getting crushed though.

Nothing’s invincible though so I don’t think the Phoenix Egg would be able to hold up against Superman’s attacks. Superman has basically surpassed the gods of DC at this point and his power is without limit. She wouldn’t have time to hide inside of it anyway thanks to Superman’s speed.

All right, time for my new counters. I’ll add the original 6 in first since I must have missed it.

      6. Jean Grey couldn’t do that since the match would be over. The instant that Superman wins, the match is recorded as a loss for her so it’s too late. Think of it as a friendly tournament and when you lose, it’s too late to get back.

      Now for the new counters.

      1. Telepathy can possibly slow Superman down, but she definitely couldn’t crush his mind or defeat him on the astral plane. His mind’s defenses are just too good. This is Superman! I don’t believe that he would get mind controlled and willpower is always enough for a hero.
      2. I dunno about her devouring Superman. If she turns into a massive size to do this, Superman can just burst out of her. If she just envelops the solar system with a wave that converts it all into heat, it just wouldn’t work on Superman. Either way, she wouldn’t be able to cope.
      3. See 1
      4. It’s mental vs mental. Her telekenesis is like a virtual grip and she can’t collapse something that is stronger than her will.
      5. Physically, she is outmatched.
      6. See above 6
      7. Right, but that just wouldn’t fly. Their would be no limits if characters could just make new futures to occur. The future still wouldn’t affect the fight and her loss would still count.
      8. Hmmmmmmm….
      9. At the most, that would cause a tie since they would both possibly die. (Although I think Superman could possibly tank that) Even so, she doesn’t really have that level of ability and you underestimate Superman’s speed. In the time that it takes her to charge up the battle would be over.
      10. Back to 1

The thing is, this is one of those matches that is literally impossible for Jean Grey to win. I shouldn’t say literally since you never know, but I believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that Superman is the strongest comic book character of all time. I don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon. Still, this did help her get two overturned matches so she is now 14-1. That’s still a Great record. Her only loss is against Superman.

  7. Interesting fight, I’ve seen this and talked about this before, but in the end it’s pretty clear who wins. Jean Grey was defeated by the X-Men before including Professor X and the best I’ve seen her do is destroy cities and turn people to ash. She is still not as powerful as the Phoenix Force however, one of marvel’s cosmic gods, and even then Superman has beaten people much stronger than the Phoenix Force, and he even lifted an infinity paged book, which is something neither Jean Grey or the Phoenix Force can do. Jean has tons of reality warping abilities but in the end she won’t be able to catch Superman as his speed is way too fast for her to even detect him, and if she were to attack him Jean would wish she hadn’t, as Superman’s durability is too high and even surpasses reality warping attacks. Superman is near Omnipotent in Strength.

    • Agreed, Superman’s stats are just a little too crazy to stop. No matter how good her telepathic abilities are, she won’t be able to think fast enough to stop Superman. His sheer momentum would also make him hard to even slow down. I don’t imagine this fight would last that long for him once he gets serious
