Imhotep vs Meowth

Imhotep has a lot of sand abilities which can definitely be useful in a fight. Unfortunately for him, this is one round that he can’t win. Meowth is pretty quick and he’s got a nice variety of attacks that he can use to end Imhotep with. Imhotep just won’t be able to endure the attacks for very long. Meowth wins.

  1. After he recovered his full body, he lost the fear of cats. That was litreally the only chance Meowth had. Seriously, the guy is thoroughly immortal, has sand powers comparable to Gaara, is a sorceror capable of resurrecting his own armies of the undead… This one must be a joke. It’s a joke, isn’t it? Tell me it’s a joke

    • Well, he’s immortal, but he can defintiely be defeated. Immortals can’t die, but they can be destroyed. I think Meowth’s array of attacks like Hyper Beam and payday, would whittle down his health until he’s finally defeated. I’m not sure that I’d rank him up there with Gaara and the armies part wouldn’t count in the battle. It’s why Ash doesn’t get some of the pokemon that he’s teamed up with and only ones he’s caught. I mean Imhotep’s a decent fighter and all, but I think Meowth’s speed and power would give him the win.

      • Physical damage is irrelevant – he can just dissolve into sand to reform. And my comparison with Gaara earlier is based on pure scale of sand powers. While Gaara probably has the edge on that front, his sand powers are still more immense than anything Meowth could hope to use. Imhotep can literally summon armies of the dead, so unless I’m misinterpreting the rules of this blog they still count. Not that he needs them to win this battle.

        Comparing the two of them:

Power: Imhotep outmatches Meowth. Not to an insurmountable degree, as Meowth can pull off a substandard Hyper Beam if the situation calls for it.

Speed: Over a short range, Meowth may be slightly faster. Over greater distances, Imhotep can travel as fast as the wind

Durability: Meowth is somewhat durable as any Pokémon is. Imhotep, meanwhile, has been stated to be unkillable by mortal weapons. Exaggeration or not, he’s only been defeated in the films after first having his powers removed. Physical damage is easily repairable, and I personally cannot believe Meowth would be capable of doing anything to hurt him whatsoever.

      • Imhotep can summon armies from the dead, but it’s different from when you can summon that one being who is forever your loyal ally. In Final Fantasy XIII Lightning can summon Odin to come to her aid. Prior to his release, she has him in a Pokeball type object and then releases him. For Imhotep, they are actual people who died and now he’s brought them back. That’s more like bringing in additional help, which is why they wouldn’t count.

Powerwise, Imhotep isn’t that impressive. He completely relies on the sand and isn’t that good at hand to hand combat (As seen in the Scorpion King battle) Meowth can use double team and aerial ace to speedblitz him and dodge all of his attacks. His Toxic and Hyper Beam will help to damage him and he’s also got his Shadow Ball and Shadow Claw attack to deal some damage. His rain dance will also help to hamper Imhotep’s sand abilities. (albeit very slightly)

Imhotep can move quickly as sand, but in that form he can’t hope to hurt Meowth. Plus, ground speed just about always beats air speed. You’re able to maneuver quicker and control your speed better.

Imhotep is supposed to not be able to be destroyed by any mortal weapon, but leave him in a room with Train Heartnet for 5 minutes and I’m sure that he’d prove that one wrong. Imhotep is essentially invincible in the Mummy World because it’s a very weak universe. It’s basically about as strong as real life, which is why no being is able to defy him. If he were in the Pokemon world, I don’t think that he would have made it very far. Meowth’s energy attacks should be able to take Imhotep down eventually

      • Yeah, the heat could be getting to me 😛 Well, now I’m going to go play some Super Paper Mario for a bit. That game is definitely fun!

      • Yes, I was able to collect the final pure heart. Now I’m heading into the climax of the game. I hope to have it complete by Monday 🙂
