Link continues to grow stronger throughout the Legend of Zelda series and was most impressive in Hyrule Warriors. That being said, Cloud is no slouch in the power department and I’d consider him to be on a higher level than the Hero of Time. In Advent Children, we saw that Cloud is able to fight against 3 high level opponents at once while in a poisoned, weakened state. This says a lot about Cloud’s quick thinking and experience in battle. I simply don’t see him losing to Link and now we know who the better swordfighter is! (Projectiles would give Cloud the win as well though) Cloud wins.

I personally never found the battle to be all that close. Now, if Advent Children did not exist, then that would be another story altogether.

I think that’s a case by case basis. Link could take it if the fight drags out. Cloud could win if he could break through Link’s defenses and started strategizing.
I suppose that they get some fights right once in a while. As for the match, I always found it to be a bit of a stomp, but both fighters are strong in their own right.
How about Marth vs Cloud? Marth is the perfect swordsman!

Yeah they are great. I wonder if Link’s shield can handle Cloud’s sword.
I think Cloud’s sword would smash through all limits and be the first thing to break it. It would be fun to see!
I agree and with Cloud’s speed, I don’t think Link can catch up to him.
