The Thing is pretty tough, but in the end he’s never been Hulk level. Hulk is just in another league. Hulk got the power cosmic and also became the Worldbreaker. Thing’s pretty strong, but he’s not quite that strong. Of course Thing and Hulk became rivals somehow. So even though Thing is far weaker he’s gotten his share of hits in.
Of course he can never quite hope to take the Hulk down in a fight. Hulk’s just far too powerful. This makes Thing fall even deeper down the rankings. Maybe one day he’ll score another win and move back up. Of course for Hulk things are just dandy right now. Hulk wins.

I always was a Thing fan. The Thing was the original Marvel strongman. I hate how Marvel always made the Thing the underdog when it came to fighting other Marvel strongmen. I met Stan Lee at a comic book store in Winnipeg back in 1988. I asked him to give Ben Grimm the ability to finally beat the Hulk. A few years later….the Thing mutated, and he beat up the grey Hulk, and a green Robot hulk but they never matched up the new mutated Thing versus the real Green Hulk. I often wondered how that would have turned out? I hated when they brought in a female Thing…I’m glad they got rid of her, that being Sharon Ventura.
It is too bad that Thing has been falling down the strength ladder. At least Stan Lee listened to your request. Beating a Grey Hulk and a Hulk robot is better than nothing right? They’re still “Hulks” But in the end you’re probably going with Hulk on this right?
Well sir, it would seem that in the Marvel universe, Gamma rays beat out Cosmic rays when it comes to creating strongmen. Yet in our universe….if we were exposed to any of these rays…we would get cancer. Go to my You tube channel, fooblestheclown1, and look up my Thing vs Hulk tribute called….The main event. Spiky Thing beat up Joe Fixit the Gray Hulk. That version of Thing would have had a chance against the Green Hulk as well, if he could manage to KO him before he got angrier and therefore stronger.
But KOing Hulk is the tough part. He has a healing factor and he’s just really durable. Still, Spiky Thing is pretty tough!

(spike) B.Grimm/ Thing could /has knocked down & out the Hulk-GREEN HULK…who (btw) could not beat Galactus,any herald or Super Skrull or THOR…FAIRLY either….& like the competitors c.book heroes (Superman,Wonder Woman ) 2 who are Way overrated/overhyped & need to be taken down a few notches…
Superman and Wonder Woman are immensely powerful and could beat those guys pretty fast so it gets tricky. I wouldn’t really call them overrated though, just hardcore n epic. Hulk and Thing are definitely good rivals though
In the context of the Marvel universe, it’s pretty obvious who is portrayed as superior.
Definitely, it’s not even a close fight at this point.
