Captain Kirk has his phaser set to stun and at the ready, but it won’t be enough to defeat the Chief. Master Chief has a pretty good armor at his disposal and he’s a very good shot so he has the advantage. Captain Kirk is good at hand to hand combat so he may give the Chief some trouble in that area, but overall Master Chief has definitely taken the win for this battle. Master Chief wins.

  1. I think that Kirk would win by the rules of the blog.
Kirk should either get the ability to make master chief burst into flames with magic, because of “The Magicks of Mengas-Tu,” or make Master Chief Shoot himself with Telekinesis because of “Plato’s Stepchildren,” or else Kirk should be able to move faster than Master Chief can even perceive because of Scalosian Water from “Wink of an eye.”
I may be able to think of more episodes.

    • Well, I’d need to look into those abilities, but I can’t say that the outcome looks promising for Kirk. Telekinesis likely wouldn’t work because that is just a battle of wills and Master Chief’s is likely stronger since he’s such a trained soldier and all. It would be really difficult to surpass Master Chief in speed since Master Chief is naturally superhuman in that area. Making Master Chief burst into flames with a glance is a little iffy, but possibly more useful. It just depends how it works. Still, it could make this a closer fight than it was

      • The Scalosian water sped Kirk up to the point where phaser fire could be dodged by walking leisurely out of the way. It almost as if time stopped. Master Chief is not that fast.

The telekineses could not be overcome by force of will, or else Star Trek would not have featured the first televised interracial kiss. Kirk and Spock were forced to dance and sing. The control was absolute.

      • I remember that episode if it’s the one that I’m thinking about in the original series, but that doesn’t prove that the control was absolute. Only that Kirk and Spock have incredibly low will power and I’ve always suspected that anyway. There is no form of telekinesis or telepathy that is absolute. Even Charles Xavier wouldn’t be able to mind control someone like Robin if they fought on the blog. I believe that Willpower is always sufficient to stop such things from happening.

The water feat does sound impressive so I’ll definitely have to look into that one

      • Kirk has defeated genetically enhanced super men in one on one combat before. In “Space Seed, so having super human strength and speed doesn’t help Master Chief even if kirk doesn’t have magic or Scalosian water speed or telekinesis. Kirk is a much better fighter than you credit him.

      • The Khan episode? That was really just plot hax and it didn’t make sense. Kirk just kept throwing random punches and somehow they were connecting. Master Chief would realistically be able to defeat Kirk in one punch if his fist connected. His super strength is formidable and it’s not something that Kirk will want to go up against

  2. Kirk also gets a personal forcefield around him by means of a life support belt that also lets him survive anywhere. In “Beyond the Farthest Star,” someone was under the weight of hundreds of ponds of metal, and they were like,” Oh no! that’s going to drain the battery!” He was fine, though.

So… The armor of Master Chief is not an advantage.

    • I don’t recall that episode, but I don’t remember it helping him….in every other episode. Guys are always knocking him around and out with a single punch. I’m pretty sure that his life support belt won’t save him. If it tries, Master Chief can just shoot him with his laser and end it. Either way, the armor protects him from phaser blasts and it does give him the edge in power

      • I think it’s useful and notable for the purposes of this blog. Anyway. Get back to me after you see “Wink of an Eye” and “The Magiks of Mengas-Tu.”

      • I’ve been putting that on hold for long enough. I’ll certainly get back to you within the week after checking those episodes out

      • Well, Kirk’s big speed boost in Wink of an Eye is technically impressive since he’s moving at such a speed that the others appear slow. That definitely gives him a degree of super speed. I wouldn’t say that it’s enough to deal with the Master Chief, but it does place him at a much higher level than others fighters like Indiana Jones or James Bond. I will definitely take a look at his previous fights and see if any of them shall be overturned

  3. Skullmiser. Master chief survived a fall from space holding on to a broken armored plate, and was fine. All of the g’s he would have experienced from the fall and the impact would have been easily greater than the hundreds of pounds of metal crushing someone.

  4. You experience g’s from the speed at which you’re falling. Many pilots have gotten broken ribs from breaking the sound barrier. When the Chief was fallen, he was engulfed in flames meaning he was going way beyond the speed of sound. And if the Chief were to be under hundreds of pounds of metal it wouldn’t do anything seeing as he can effortlessly lift futuristic tanks that way many tons.

    • If you are in free fall, then you are experiencing weightlessness.
I don’t think that his terminal velocity exceeds speed of sound. for most skydivers, It’s about one sixth that.
Tell me more about pilots breaking ribs, please. That sounds interesting.

  5. The slowest movement of a meteor was 25,000 mph. The speed of sound is about 767 mph. The chief fell a distance greater than the distance of the moon to the earth. So yes, he was falling way faster than the speed of sound. A man named John Stapp experienced 16 to 22 Gs for about 1 to 2 seconds. He survived with ripped tissue, dislocated shoulder, and a broken rib. You do not experience weightlessness while falling because as you fall the earths gravity pulls you towards it, accelerating you further. That is how meteors go so fast. Weight depends on the force of gravity, so in the chief’s case, he would have weighed many times more than he usually is because he fell from outside the earths atmosphere. A lot of gravity would have been pulling faster and faster as he fell.

    • As speed increases, wind resistance also increases, until you can’t go any faster. That is what terminal velocity is. I don’t know know how far from the atmosphere Master Chief fell, but I’m not even sure how much that matters, because the farther one is from a celestial body, the weaker the force of gravity is on you.
The force on John Stapp was a result of the acceleration by an external force, not the speed, and not gravity.
I don’t mean to be condescending, but some of your notions about physics are wrong, and it makes it too bothersome to argue with you.

  6. You seem to have your physics wrong because wind resistance wouldn’t be a factor if you’re in a vacuum. Let me give you an example. The terminal velocity of a ping pong ball is 12.5 meters per second. On an the Mythbusters episode ” Supersonic Ping Pong Balls “, they put a ball into a tube several meters long. They then sucked out all of the air, creating a vacuum. Next, they quickly poked a whole into one end of the tube ( both ends were covered in boxing tape ) which then caused a rapid flow of air that launched the ball at speed of about 1100 mph, way beyond it’s terminal velocity. And about the gravity, you make seem as if the chief was away from the earth. But the force of gravity will increase as he is moving TOWARDS the earth. The way it happened is that a ship, beyond the earth’s atmosphere, exploded which launched the chief towards the earth. He would have gone many times his terminal velocity as he was first traveling through a vacuum. And though the wind would eventually slow him down a bit, it wouldn’t be much of a distance do to his mass and his immense speed.

  7. MC annihilates. REGULAR Spartans rip through Titanium like they’re orange peels. MC rips through regular Spartans like they’re orange peels. He can go speeds running that top 200 MPH. When he was a kid he dodged bullets. Now, bullets bounce off him. I’m confident that his MJOLNIR armor or even his Mark IV Spartan armor could tank whatever Kirk could dish out. He could dodge his blasts with ease and since his bones are and I quote by Halo doctor “his bones are on the brink of being unbreakable.” He has defeated 3 trained ODST’s before. That’s impressive, since it was 3v1. And ODST’s are the most highly trained unit besides a Spartan. And MC was unarmed and they were. And MC had no armor and they did. And he had no perks, steroids, or Cortana to boost his strength. Oh, and did I mention he did all of this when he was 5? Now he’s fully developed, has the most technologically advanced suit of armor in the Halo Multi-verse, can use perks, steroids, and Cortana, is armed, and on a scale of 1 to 10, his awesomeness is 11… thousand.
