Ralph Hinkley makes his debut on the blog and he’s up against the mighty Shazam! Ralph Hinkley is a teacher and Billy Batson is a student so things could get tough for Billy in a battle of civilians. Luckily, Billy’s ability to transform into the mighty Shazam will come in handy. Ralph also has similar super powers so this could end up being a close battle, but Shazam’s physical attributes are simply better. He’s gone toe to toe with Superman! Shazam wins.

  1. I myself am not sure about how tough Ralph is. In “Operation Spoil Sport,” He had a nuclear missile explode in his face, which just knocked him away, and made him yell “Woah!”
Later though, when he flew towards an oncoming train, he wanged his head, and that caused him to be dazed, and he had trouble remembering things for a little while.

    • Inconsistent feats can definitely be tough to work around and they’re common in comedies. The train scene would likely override the nuclear missile feat as they both can’t really exist at the same time. Nontheless, any feats would be tough to pass Shazam since Ralph doesn’t have a big villain to exchange blows with

      • I think the nuke would take precedence, as characters are at their most powerful in this blog.
There are some funny parts, as there are in all shows, but it’s not strictly a comedy. There’s plenty of drama and suspense that usually involves top secret FBI cases.

      • The thing is that the rocket sounds like a comedy scene. The problem with comedy shows is that you can’t really believe all of the feats. It’s why characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck don’t do well on the blog because they have tremendous feats, but they’re mostly toon force. If there aren’t any feats in the show that are even close to that one, then it’s safe to say that it was likely just supposed to be a funny scene. Of course, I can’t completely judge that verdict without seeing the show, but either way it wouldn’t be enough to beat Shazam. If it’s a legit feat, then it will definitely help him on the blog

      • It wasn’t funny, It was very important that he stopped that missile. Here. This is feat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18mJOzerFlQ&list=PLnJ6uTETIgpICucH4X94n4z3upW3NAtiZ&index=11#t=43m00s

I’m still watching episodes, but he is quite mighty. I’m on “The shock will kill you,” where he intercepted a space shuttle weighing a couple thousand tons, and flying around mach two, and steered it away from a town into the desert.

I recommend this show. It is entertaining, and not as saturated with comedy as I think you think it is.

      • At around what part of the video does he stop the missille? Tried to locate it, but it was pretty difficult.

Well, he definitely sounds powerful and he would likely beat at least 90% of the current live action film/TV Show protagonists. I can’t say that I had heard of the show before now, but I definitely won’t be forgetting it anytime soon at this point. Seems like a pretty fun idea for a show and flying is already a great superpower to have.

      • That’s odd. I linked the video to the fourty-third minute. It should have been there.

The show is wonderful. Flying IS great. He used to be terrible at it. He would scream constantly while he was in the air, and hit things, but he’s gotten lots of practice since then. He’s also practiced Invisibility, telekinesis, and pyrokinesis.

      • Hm, the ad must’ve messed with it because it works this time. Well, the initial shock hit him, but Ralph ducked most of the blast and the explosion was pretty small so the nuclear material must have been minimal. I do agree that it is a serious feat though so most likely the train one was a big comedic. Of course, they could both be valid and Ralph is just more susceptible to direct hits.

      • Now that I think about it, hitting a train with his head while traveling in opposite directions and having no physical injuries is still very impressive. The memory loss when he came to was a result of the traumatic experience of the alien encounter.

      • Yeah, that’s still a solid defense feat. Aliens always make for interesting plots and it’s definitely tough to shield against them. Hopefully he was able to take them down for the count. (Not destroy, but imprison them of course)

    • No no. He never fought the aliens. I hope he does not take them down for the count. The aliens are the ones who gave him the suit (it only works on him) along with instructions on how to use it (He lost them).

    • True, but Captain Marvel is already taken and calling him Billy Batson doesn’t have that same action appeal. Shazam’s always what I’ve known him as anyway so it just stuck. I love the name, I’d probably just mention the Wizard part in parenthesis for the other guy
