I feel a little bad for Palkia. He looked downright pitiful in the anime movies as the writers seem to dislike him and then Palkia didn’t even get a Mega form. Someday he probably will, but that won’t help at this moment since Rayquaza already has a powered up form. His speed was already great and the Mega Mode will ensure that his defense and power are also up to snuff. Palkia may as well throw in the towel because this close match just turned into an absolute stomp. Rayquaza wins.

I gotta say, I still go with Rayquaza since it can use Rest and has just as many options to take Palkia out as Palkia has to take it out. Mega Rayquaza would just make it a blowout.
Agreed, Rayquaza is a little too powerful to lose here. Palkia just won’t be able to keep up with such high levels of untapped power. With his mega form Rayquaza is one of the strongest Pokemon out there

If we are talking about palkia and rayquaza with their canon feats, then palkia can easily win.
His space manipulation grants him a huge edge over rayquaza he is the ruler of space along with dialga’s time. He can literally manipulate the fabric of reality, its a pretty easy win for dialga lore wise
Game wise it can go either way depending on levels, iv’s ev’s, movesets, items and stats.
But ultimately, rayquaza would be much better. Specifically mega rayquaza
He has better stats in his mega form and has a much better move pull then palkia, however in game mechanics of pokemon it can also come down to luck

Yeah Mega Rayquaza definitely makes things pretty crazy with that buff he got. He was already shredding Deoxys when they first fought and this makes him even crazier. I feel like Palkia needs a little something extra to fully match him but I’m not exactly sure what that should be. I agree that it’s a close fight though. Definitely not one where either fighter will be running away here. They’re both legendaries who have earned their spot at the top!
