Raiden vs Akame

Suggested by Random Raiden is a very fast fighter and that will help him stay alive against Akame. Raiden is easily one of the strongest Metal Gear characters and he could very well be the absolute best. What will give him some trouble here is that Akame’s speed may still be greater than his. He’ll put up a great fight and his defense will ensure that the match comes down to the last hit, but I believe Akame will be able to put him away. Her berserk mode and speed are just enough to give her the edge. Akame wins.

    • Yeah, I’ve definitely heard a lot of great things about it. Seems solid all around, the violence is just the part that’s a little dicey. I think it’s TV-MA over here so if I wanted to watch it I’d need to find a TV edited version that takes it down to TV-14 or something

  1. Tbh this is the first matchup i have seen from you that actually makes sense and is actually at least somewhat fair.
    But raiden does win
in terms of strength, raiden has akame beat, as shown by random guy. im pretty sure being able to deflect a giant robot is better then fighting soldiers , and hell raiden fought a robot named excelsus, he flipped this same metal gear, then rip off its bulding sized sword and then proceeds to use that building sized sword to duel it. i dotn think akime has the strength to do that kind of shit.
Hell physical strength was never her thing since she uses poison with her murasame

in terms of speed akame at first seems faster as raiden in his base form has never shown lightning fast speeds, in his base form… in raidens blade form, he is alot faster. he can even increase his perception to the poitn where raidrops around him have almost legit stopped. and raiden in this state has been shown to swing his sword dozens of time in that matter, that would prob be 11% the speed of light. so akame in base form beats raiden in speed but in blade form raiden beats akame. so akame’s speed advantage really does not make too much of a difference
hell raiden is far more durable.
as he took a punch that could also destroy excelsus.

Now of course its been stated that murasame can kill a person with one cut due to the poison. But the problem is that almost 99% of raidens body is metal. His entire body below his lower jaw is fucking robotic. now of course akame did defeat tobi who was also a cyborg however, she did need help from lubbock to do so. even then raiden’s superior speed in blade mode and and durablility would keep decapitation from happening.

Whats more, is that raiden’s murasama is a high frequency blade that can destabilize molecular bonds, all he needs is one clean and strong swing and akame is dead. and with that blade he can also cut akame’s sword making her generally useless, whereas raiden legit uses robots tied to his feet and then breakdances to take down enemy’s.

    • Yeah I thought this was a really solid match for sure. Both of them are really fast and strong. So I would agree with Raiden being more powerful in terms of strength so Akame’s best bet here is really going in with speed. She just needs one solid precision cut to potentially win this. It’s easier said than done to actually land that kind of blow but as an assassin type of fighter she is used to striking at tight windows.

Raiden’s blade form sounds really intense though, I gotta take another look at that because if it does void Akame’s speed advantage then that could blow this match wide open

      • Well the problem for her to do this is one, the real only way for her to get a killing blow in is to strike at his head, because any other part of his body is a legit cyborg. the problem is one, like i said, in blade mode raiden is faster cause he can increase his perception to be fast as 11% the speed of light. and two,
with raiden’s sword having a chance to cut down akame’s. its really risky, plus raiden is an expirenced fighter too and would most likely catch on with what akame’s plan is. and in ripper mode, his strength and skill would skyrocket even more to the point that getting in close would be deadly.

      • Yeah going for the head is definitely the best bet here. It’ll still be really difficult but it’s got the best odds of succeed by a long shot. Nothing else would be able to come close for Akame. Putting all of her eggs in this basket is the key to success. It all comes down to her precision vs his ripper mode’s ability to block/dodge in time

  2. What makes this harder for akame to win is the fact that raiden has a bigger arsenal, its not just his blade, he has acces to guns, grenades and alot more. meanign raiden can fight from a distance too. and plus he has access to electricity as well. and raiden doe snot have to worry about any ammo problem since he has infinite ammo, no joke its canon that he does have infinite ammo. meaning raiden can both fight from all ranges while akame can only fight close since she only posses two other swords, though she does not really carry more then 1 around. besides the other 2 swords would be useless too since once agian, i dont think the shingu sword that can create wounds that can never be healed is gonna help agiants a cyborg body. sure akame too has worked with guns but never really carried any around with her regulary, nor is she as trained with them as a cyborg ninja like raiden.

And rn we are just focusing on how akame is trying to aim for raiden’s head to get the poison effect off, when remember, raiden also is gonna be trying to kill her with his blade, that can also break her sword with a strong slice. if akame does get hit, its pretty much almost game over for her, hell beg to god she survives the first hit, cause once agian raiden cuts through robot giants like its a normal day.

    • Yeah that really is a whole lot at his disposal. Raiden is definitely the more versatile fighter here and Akame has to be careful at all times because a single mistake could be absolutely fatal. Fighting Raiden would be as stressful as it is difficult. Easily would be the toughest fight of her life if she’s able to hang in there.

    • Was wrong about one thing and that was akame’s strength, scaling to esdeath freezing a continent she should be multi continental level or something but even then murasame still cant really managed to land a hit when raiden is still faster and would most likely snap muarsame in half with his murasama blade, after all esdeath’s has been broken too
and once akame loses the sword, she loses her life

      • Only if he can catch her sword at the wrong angle to break it and I’d say Akame is likely way too fast for that. She can weave in and out to dodge the attacks and launch her counters. Raiden is really powerful but also being able to land that perfect sword slash will be a little beyond him

  3. I literally told you that raiden was faster with blade mode and stronger when in ripper, akame landing a hit is gonna be unlikely when she has to specifically aim for his head and even be capable of hitting raiden, meanwhile being forced to make sure her blade does not snap in half due to murasama’s high frequency properties of weakening her blade

    • Yeah the speed is fair, it’s a bit tricky but they’re both extremely fast to be sure. I would still say she has the slight edge based on how fast she was moving against Esdeath. Even in the game I can’t recall a scene where Raiden was able to surpass that level of speed. The swords part is tricky but Akame should be able to go in and land a lethal blow with enough of her sword swings. Raiden being metallic hurts him here since his durability will be a bit lower as a result
