Suggested by iKnowledge It’s time for Dio Brando to take the stage once more. His super speed is quite impressive and really balances out his time/ice abilities. Ghost Rider is very strong and at his best he is considered to be one of Marvel’s heavy weights. Still, his speed isn’t great enough to match up against Brando. If the Rider was a little more durable than perhaps he would stand a chance, but even then it would be a very rough fight. Dio won’t let his guard down either so there’s no chance of a sneak attack. Dio Brando wins.

I still don’t think Dio would win. Even though he’s very powerful, he’s killed more people than Pol Pot, the Janjaweed (https://www.britannica.com/topic/Janjaweed), The Great Leap Forward, and the Plague of Galen (https://windowthroughtime.wordpress.com/tag/the-plague-of-galen/), and he still has two eyes. What’s to stop Ghost Rider from making him feel all that pain and making the Kujo and Joestar families rejoice?
True, the Penance Stare would cause a lot of damage but between Dio’s insanity and reveling in his opponent’s pain I think he would handle it pretty well. Ghost Rider would also have a tough time keeping up with Dio to land the glances
I know that The Penance Stare has failed to work on Deadpool and Madcap, two Marvel Comics characters who are more morally white than Dio, but, reveling in pain is no way to survive that, as well as lacking remorse.
I think for Deadpool the logic seemed to be that he was too crazy to really feel its effects which hints that it is more of a spiritual based attack than a physical one although it seems to vary. In that case if the characters really don’t care about what they have done they may have a better resistance. It is conjecture though and either way I think the speed difference is the big part here though

First off dio really has no way of killing ghost rider, world war hulk could not even kill ghost rider and world war hulk can destroy universes.
And really dio has no holy weapons with him in his arsenal so he really cant kill him.
And even if dio could figure out ghost rider’s weakness he would not be fast enough to find holy weapons to do so since ghost rider can just easily chase him around with his hell bike, and the hell bike outraced mjolnir.

but strength is not gonna kill something that can really only die by holy weapons.
Dio’s freezing is gonna do absolute shit since well, ghost rider legit has a fire arsenal.

Yeah this is definitely a real close one. Both Dio and Ghost Rider really like to put the fear into their opponent’s hearts. It’ll be tough to scare the Rider though because that guy is just way too powerful and strong. He has powers beyond measure and all but Dio’s always got his strength to fall back on

If world war hulk could not kill him with his outstanding strength then dio surely wont be strong enough either.
with dio’s strength and arsenal being useless its pretty much impossible for him to kill ghost rider.
while ghost rider’s arsenal was just fine with killing dio, Sure dio’s regeneration ability is extremely good however its really slow and dio needs blood in order to speed up his healing process.
and ghost rider’s form is legit just a skeleton thats on fire. so no blood for dio.
after all Jonathan used partial fire in the final fight with dio anyway, so ghost rider’s arsenal was capable of doing fatal damage to dio.
Ghost Rider has been taken out a whole lot though. He may eventually regenerate or something but Dio can definitely take him down for the count. Just needs to start spamming some close quarter combat moves. Hey if Blackout was strong enough to punch the Rider into submission in the films then Dio is definitely ready for this.
yeah he has been taken out before, either by holy weapons or people who people who just break the logic of ghost riders weakneses.
And dude no blackout punching ghost rider into submission is not canon, like you said it was in the films.
Besides ghost riders hellfire can not just damage dio but his soul as well.
Yeah that film was definitely not good for sure. They really messed him up. I would say Ghost Rider is strong for sure and World War Hulk may have been his best portrayal but ultimately I do think he would falter against someone as powerful as Dio Brando
