Tournament Smashers Episode 53 Bobobobo Bobobo vs Luffy

The 53rd battle is now up!

Luffy was on the Going Merry along with the rest of the Strawhats. “This is so cool!” Tony Tony (The) Chopper yelled for no reason as he ran to the front of the ship. “Watch where you’re going!” Nami yelled as she got up from her chair and went back in the cabin. Now she wouldn’t have to deal with the madness! Zoro figured that he should stop Chopper before something drastic happened, but he fell asleep before he could do anything.

Sanji ran to the kitchen to cook, but in his excitement, he didn’t notice the banana peel that Franky had left. “Whoops!” Franky yelled as Sanji tripped over it and they both fell in the basement. Brook tried to run, but he was smashed to pieces. “This is what I get for working with Pirates,” Usopp grumbled as he worked on improving his slingshot. Chopper kept running, but he banged his head on the rails and fell into the ocean. “CHOPPER!” Luffy yelled as he jumped in after him. Once he hit the water, Luffy’s body froze up. His Devil Fruit powers were useless in water and his body also became paralyzed.

If Luffy focused enough power, he could move a little bit, but not much. Luffy would have just let his Nakama save him like usual, but he needed to save Chopper! Luffy gathered up his strength and shot out his arm. Grabbing Chopper, Luffy threw him back into the ship and then let himself faint from exhaustion.

He woke up hours later on an island. “This can’t be right, but it’s so cool!” Luffy yelled as he watched someone with a yellow Afro kick an arcade machine into the air and then he ate it. “Hey Afroman, what are you doing?” Luffy asked as he approached the fellow.

“That’s a silly question,” Bobobobo Bobobo said as he punched Luffy through a tree. “Was not!” Luffy yelled as he shot out his punch. His arm stretched and knocked Bobobobo Bobobo to the ground. Finally, Luffy’s arm wrapped around Bobobobo Bobobo. “You’ve eaten a Devil Fruit!” Bobobobo Bobobo yelled as he struggled to break free. “That’s right, I’m a Rubberman,” Luffy explained. He had explained this hundreds of times in the past, so he was pretty good at it.

“Why you!” Bobobobo Bobobo said as he started powering up. “HAAAAAAAA” Bobobobo Bobobo yelled as he kept on powering up. “What are you doing?” Luffy asked as he let Bobobobo Bobobo go. “HAAAAA!” Bobobobo Bobobo yelled as he flexed his muscles. “I made you let me go, didn’t I?” Bobobobo Bobobo laughed as he got up. “End of the road Luffy,” Bobobobo Bobobo chuckled as he walked towards Luffy.

“What?” Luffy said as he sidestepped Bobobobo Bobobo’s punch. Bobobobo Bobobo threw many punches at Luffy, but Luffy dodged them all. “Gum Gum Punch!” Luffy yelled as he shot a solid punch. It knocked Bobobobo Bobobo into the water. “Aw Yeah!” Luffy yelled as he jumped in after him. “Whoops,” he thought as Bobobobo Bobobo punched him to the ocean floor. “Can’t move so well in here, now can you?” Bobobobo Bobobo laughed as he kicked Luffy. “I’m not done yet!” Luffy yelled as he pulled back his arms.

“Gum Gum Twister!” Luffy yelled as his arms started spinning. “Chocolate Snaps!” Bobobobo Bobobo yelled as the water all got pulled into the tornado and shot away. “You just evaporated an entire ocean!” Bobobobo Bobobo yelled in horror. “That’s right,” Luffy replied as he ran towards Bobobobo Bobobo. Bobobobo Bobobo jumped towards him, but Luffy sidestepped and knocked him to the ground. “Any last words,” Luffy said as smoke started coming out of him. “Yeah, you haven’t seen the last of me!” Bobobobo Bobobo yelled as he flew off. He would need to hide in Gotham for a few days!

“That was fun,” Luffy said as he turned back to where the Going Merry was. All of his Nakama were waiting for him. Luffy knew that he would become the Pirate King of legend! “YEAHHHHH!” Luffy yelled as he jumped in the air and stretched his arm out to incredible lengths. He grabbed the ship at last and pulled himself on. “GUYS, I’m Back!” Luffy laughed as he shot his fist into the air. “You are, but not your Nakama,” a voice said as someone walked towards Luffy. “Don’t mess with me!” Luffy yelled as he ran towards the opponent and threw a planet busting punch at him. The opponent caught his punch and laughed. “End of the road….Monkey D. Luffy!”

Garonewt vs One Above All

500px-One-Above-All_(Multiverse)
The One Above All is a being feared by noone and yet he’s regarded as one of the strongest beings in all of media. I’m sure that he’s pretty impressive, but it won’t be enough to defeat someone as powerful as Garonewt. Garonewt has defeated far stronger opponents back in his day. Garonewt wins.

Greymon vs Lugia

Lugia Greymon
Lugia is pretty tough and he’s one of the stronger Pokemon out there, but he doesn’t stand a chance against Greymon. Greymon has his Nova Blast after all! One good hit is enough to take down just about anybody. Even if Lugia could survive it, I don’t think he could endure a Terra Force attack! It would just be too much for him. Greymon wins.

Garonewt vs Bly

aaas
bly2
Bly is far too fast for Garonewt and takes the win with ease. Garonewt won’t be able to keep up with Bly and gets overpowered pretty quickly. Garonewt is strong, but he just won’t be able to fight an opponent as powerful as Bly. Bly is one of the ultimate beings in all of media and he just won’t be defeated. Bly wins.

Space Godzilla vs Feraligatr

sg 1
Feraligatr_by_Tatatorterra
Space Godzilla took a heavy loss, but now he’s ready to bounce back and get some wins! Well, I’m afraid he’s going to have to wait on that. Feraligatr is pretty fast and his numerous abilities will help him to overwhelm Space Godzilla. Space Godzilla just won’t be able to win this round. Feraligatr wins.

Garonewt vs Superman

Garonewt is pretty powerful and his gravity abilities will help to keep Superman at bay. Superman won’t be able to stop this powerhouse for long. Superman’s very powerful, but Garonewt can take everything that Superman can dish out and then some. Superman won’t be able to evade Garonewt’s punches forever and he takes a loss. Garonewt wins.

Beet The Vandel Buster Review

230px-Beet_vol_1

Beet The Vandel Buster is a manga that is missed by many fans. The series had a golden beginning and just kept getting better and better. The series had an abrupt ending with 12 volumes, but there is still a chance that the manga will continue someday. I find the chances of that pretty slim, which is why I’m doing my series review now. If the series ever does return, I’ll either continue from there on a weekly basis, do a new review covering “Part 2” or just update this one.

The manga is about a kid named Beet, who wants to end the darkness that covers the land. The world is filled with Vandels who basically have control over everything. There are various resistance groups who have made it their purpose to wipe these creatures out. They call themselves “Vandel Busters!” The more Vandels you take down, the higher your level and rep increases. There are some powerful Vandel Busters around, but for the most part, they don’t seem to have a chance. There are just too many Vandels and many of them are immensely powerful. It’s essentially the same as Naruto level fighters trying to take on Gokus and Vegetas.

There is one legendary group that are called the Zenon Warriors. They are possibly the strongest Vandel Busters in the world. The series starts off with them at a village, when the strongest Vandel in the world appears. His name is Beltorze and his design is pretty similar to Omega Shenron’s. His power is very considerable. The sheer power that is involved in Beet’s very first chapter, would make DBZ proud. Not even DBZ got to this level of power until later on. The battle is pretty good, but Beet comes along and things get dicey. Like Spiderman or Batman (Depending on the version) bad things happen that could have been avoided, if only Beet had made the right move.

The battle may not look good for the heroes, but we see more of it near the end of the series. After a large time skip, Beet is now a very tough Vandel Buster. Along with Paola, he goes to end the Dark Ages. While Beet is mostly a close range fighter, Paola uses her magical abilities to attack foes from afar. They make a pretty solid team and take on various fighters. They’ve fought opponents like Beltorze and Garonewt in the past.

Eventually, the team gets a new recruit in the form of Kissu. Kissu is also a magic user and he is powerful, but only with his spells. His strength of heart is another matter. He lacks the resolve that Paola and Beet currently possess. It’s hinted that he may have finally turned around, but that’s exactly where the series ends. BB and Slade also help the team out when they’re in a pinch. Slade possesses great speed and BB is a magic user who turns the tables and actually prefers close combat.

The team goes around and takes down as many Vandels as they can. The series is always on the go and the heroes are doing pretty well. Beet currently has a 1 Star Bounty on his head. (Which is more than what a whole country is worth) Whichever 7 star Vandel destroys him, will become the legendary 8 Star Vandel. The pressure is on for Beet and his friends!

Beet is a pretty solid main character and he’s one of the more heroic fighters currently out there. He inherited several Saiga and they have helped him to become a very well rounded fighter. He can fight up close thanks to his Feather Sword and Burning Lance, while fighting from afar with his Air Gun. Beet can use his Shield to block many powerful attacks as well. If Beet needs to land a single, but powerful shot; then it’s time to take out the Axe. Beet uses his powers wisely and he’s definitely cool.

Paola is the first member to come and help Beet out against the villains. She did pretty well on her own and got quite a few level ups. She is a magic user, so she can fire off magic blasts to defeat her opponents. Being a long range fighter does have its disadvantages, such as not obtaining the speed and power that Beet has acquired through rigorous training. She’s a pretty good character and never backs down from a fight.

Kissu is only arguably a good character. He’s always having self doubts and his physical abilities aren’t so good. His magic is very potent, but he rarely gets to show it. When the going gets tough, Kissu is usually taken out pretty quickly. I never became a fan, but Kissu was starting to show some promise. If only the series had kept going.

BB is a skilled fighter who arrests those that break the law. Her magic can be used for long range, but she can wrap it around her for close range. This way, any Vandel that makes contact with her, will be destroyed. She’s definitely not as cool as the main fighters, but perhaps she will get better. Slade is a bit of a part timer. He helps out when Beet is in a pinch, but he’s usually not on the team. Slade’s really quick and his weapon is pretty much impossible to spot. Unless your skin is extremely hard, one hit is all he needs to take you out of the fight. I guess you could call him Beet’s rival.

Zenon is the commander of the Zenon Forces. At first he may not impress you, but he’s pretty epic during the climax of the series. Not only is he able to fight against Beltorze, but he was able to transcend his very limits. He’s easily one of the strongest characters in the franchise. He was able to keep up with Beltorze, only one other fighter has accomplished such a feat. (Beet, albeit it was only a fake) There is another character known as the Winged Knight. He’s very similar to Zenon and some suspect that they are one and the same. I definitely think that he is Zenon. (The light aura is a giveaway) This shows that Zenon is even more resourceful than we thought. The other Zenon members aren’t that likable yet, but there’s always a chance for that to change. We just need them to take up arms and fight again! Or at least get a solid flashback.

There are many Vandels, but let’s focus on the 7 Star fighters. Noa is known as the smartest member of the group, but he hasn’t gotten to fight yet. It’s safe to say that he’s immensely powerful, but we have no proof yet. He’s a decent character, but it would be good to see him more excited about fighting. Lady Rodina is another 7 Star fighter. She is scheduled to be Beet’s final opponent, which could mean that she’s…the strongest? I don’t know if that’s possible, considering how tough Grineed and Beltorze were, but that’d certainly be a plot twist. If only she had gotten to fight.

Next up, let’s talk about Hysterio. He had a really cool design, but he seems to be pretty unimpressive so far. Baron completely pulverized him and his powers aren’t the greatest that I’ve seen. He was pretty disappointing, but they can’t all be winners. Garonewt is one of the strongest fighters so far. He has many creatures hidden in stones that are on his body. He also controls gravity, which makes it almost impossible to even stand up, let alone fight. His battle was definitely epic and few could hope to take him down.

Baron is an aerial Vandel whose abilities are very potent. He’s a legend, even among the 7 Stars and he’s been doing well so far. Not only did he nearly defeat Beet, but he also took down the rest of the cast, (Including The Winged Knight) except for Kissu. Can Kissu really defeat him? I don’t think so, but that’s exactly how the series ended. Right before their big, climatic battle.

Grineed is another solid villain. He’s much better when he turns into his true form. In that form, his power is definitely lethal and he was one of the most impressive villains in the series. He definitely felt like a high tier fighter and he had one of the best fights in the series. Beet had some pretty solid/long fight scenes throughout the manga and this one definitely ranks up there.

Beltorze is the final 7 Star Vandel, and I’d say that he’s the strongest. Not only did he take down the Zenon Warriors, but he’s also devastated Beet and his pals as well. Beltorze never ceases to impress me and he’s basically got everything that a villain could want. Speed, Power, Endurance, Regeneration…Everything! I can’t wait until he fights again, but that could be a while.

Beet The Vandel Buster is definitely a remarkable series. It’s one of the greatest manga that I’ve ever read and the art is excellent. The author really knows how to draw a fight scenes, not to mention that he’s good at writing interesting villains. I really hope that Beer continues at some point in the future. Some may not like that the plot isn’t exactly deep, but it makes up for it with plenty of battles. The series is essentially non stop action. The fighting never stops and the art helps everything go smoothly. Even if it doesn’t continue, this is one series that I won’t be forgetting. I highly recommend reading it.

Green Lantern The Last Super Hero Review

LastSuperHero

The Green Lantern chapter books have been pretty solid. Maybe not as good as some of the Superman ones, but still above the Batman books. This one is in the middle for me. It’s definitely under the Blue Lanterns book.

Despite how the cover may appear, this book has a lot less action than the previous one. The book starts out with Hal Jordan heading off to finally go to Oa, but things keep sidetracking him. It seems that everyone needs help, but Hal is caught unaware when his power ring won’t defend him from yellow attacks. The GL members explain that yellow is the color of fear, which is why Jordan couldn’t stop it. Jordan quickly blows up a yellow construct and shows them that you must overcome fear. (Of course, he wasn’t scared the first time, so it should have worked back then….)

Hal Jordan is a pretty solid main character and he shows that you can never give up. He’s always been one of my favorite DC characters and it’s easy to see why. Sinestro is all right, but while he talks tough, he doesn’t help too much against the big threats. Besides Jordan and Sinestro. none of the other characters really get a role. The enemies were decently tough, but they were pretty one shotish.

This GL book was about average I’d say. It was pretty entertaining, but it felt shorter than usual and I missed the fight scenes. Hal barely had to use his constructs at all. I do recommend this book to all DC fans, or to people that like adventure, but you may want to check out his other books first. Just be warned, Kilowog doesn’t get to appear in an epic fashion…or in any way at all. Sometimes, the cover may attempt to trick you. I could see myself reading this book again someday.

Future Foundation Volume 2 Review

ff-vol-2

The FF series started on a pretty high note with volume 1, but this volume takes it to a whole new level! The stakes have definitely risen and the villain’s are all making their moves. The ending is pretty ambitious and makes you wonder about the other ongoing Marvel series.

Suffice to say, the Fantastic Four/Future Foundation seem to be a little out of their league. They round up some tough villains and head off to stop the evil Reed Richards and also make sure that the Inhumans don’t do something that they’ll regret. Black Bolt is back and he’s a very changed man. He’s ready to stop his enemies with any means necessary and the Inhumans never were total “Heroes” now were they? The Kree is also readying their forces and they are prepared to destroy Earth.

Earth is a pretty big threat so I can see why many villains would want to destroy it. Without Earth, over 80% of the notable heroes are gone and the Marvel Universe would be defenseless. The comic is mostly a large battle between the Inhumans and the High Evolution’s men. Not to mention that the Reed Richards are also here to shake things up. The fight is definitely cool to watch and having a huge climax is always a must.

The heroes quickly realize that they may be out of their depth in this round. Reed Richards, Spiderman, and Reed’s father, head into the portal. It will take them where they need to be. Spiderman’s was a little disappointing, but he does (Help to) think of a good plan. Mr Fantastic decides that the FF may need help for once, so they call in _______. I can’t spoil the best part of the comic for you guys! Needless to say, this help is definitely going to pay off big time.

Mr Fantastic and Invisible Woman were pretty solid. Sue is just waiting for her chance to take the villains down and Mr Fantastic has thought of the ultimate plan of action. The Thing wasn’t a great character in this batch. Not only did he leave his friends for a while, but he pretty much embarrasses himself in the meeting. Dr Doom was also pretty good and he did a lot of damage against overwhelming odds. Unfortunately, he went up against the smartest character in Marvel.

The Inhumans were pretty uninteresting. I’ve never cared for the team and they’re basically a watered down “Xmen” group. (How they fended off the Shiar, I’ll never know!) All of the villains that the FF hired (Aside from Dr Doom) weren’t that great either. When the chips are down, I wouldn’t count on them! The Supreme Intelligence gets smarter by the second and he may have finally created the perfect plan. With Ronan by his side, they make for a pretty solid team.

Nathaniel Richards is all right, but I definitely wouldn’t call him smarter than Reed. He’s decently tough and I’m hoping that we get to see him in action soon. We also can’t forget about Annihilus’ subplot. He’s also getting ready to make his final move.

No matter how you slice it, things look like they’re coming to the end. The only boring part of the comic would be the subplot about the kids. They’re trying to show us how smart the kids are, but I’m hoping for some action next time. Perhaps they will get to help in the future. Meanwhile, the rest of the non-stop action and explosions was pretty epic! The series seems to be one of Marvel’s best.

Mordecai vs Rigby

1811278-mordecai_rigby_punchies
Mordecai is pretty strong and he has proven his superiority to Rigby in that area. Rigby is quicker than Mordecai, but I don’t think that it will be enough this time. His speed isn’t very spectacular and Mordecai just needs a good punch or two to take the win. Rigby takes a loss in this round, but he gave it his all. Mordecai wins.
