Link vs Hiei

Hiei-01
Suggested by Random Link is a skilled sword fighter and you could make the strong case that his pure swordsmanship may be even greater than Hiei’s. While that gives Link a slight advantage, Hiei is physically far superior. He will be able to speed blitz Link and exploit that difference. Link has a lot of gadgets, but they won’t be enough to protect him from Hiei’s vicious onslaught of attacks. Hiei wins.

Kil’jaeden vs Link

Suggested by Random Kil’jaeden has made his debut onto the blog with this fight! He is a powerful villain from the Warcraft franchise who can alter his size for combat. This is a good skill to have, but it’s hardly enough to frighten Link. Link’s taken on dozens of would be conquerors and foes who threatened the entire planet. Link has stopped every last one of them with his bombs and Light Arrows. Kil’jaeden will be no different as he’ll have a tough time landing any meaningful blows through Link’s shield and a few good light arrows will have taken him out. Link wins.

Cloud vs Link

Link continues to grow stronger throughout the Legend of Zelda series and was most impressive in Hyrule Warriors. That being said, Cloud is no slouch in the power department and I’d consider him to be on a higher level than the Hero of Time. In Advent Children, we saw that Cloud is able to fight against 3 high level opponents at once while in a poisoned, weakened state. This says a lot about Cloud’s quick thinking and experience in battle. I simply don’t see him losing to Link and now we know who the better swordfighter is! (Projectiles would give Cloud the win as well though) Cloud wins.

Ryu vs Link

unnamed
Ryu’s a very strong fighter and he’s already starting to pass Link on the Super Smash Bros tier list. Link has a nice variety of weapons at his disposal like the Light Arrow or the Master Sword, but neither one of those items is enough to stop Ryu. Ryu has way too much power on his side to be defeated and he is actually fast enough to dodge everything at Link’s disposal. Yes, that even includes the Light Arrows. I just don’t see Link being able to stand up to Ryu for very long and he will end up getting a fatal loss in this fight. Ryu wins.

Roy vs Link

unnamed (1)
It’s been a long time since I read the Fire Emblem manga with Roy so perhaps I am overrating him a little here, but I feel like he has the edge. His speed is extremely impressive and while Link’s Light Arrows are usually a deciding factor here, I feel like Roy would be able to block them and evade long enough to get close to Link. At that point, I feel like Link wouldn’t be able to keep up with Roy. Roy’s punishing blows would make Link eventually lose his grip on the Master Sword and that’s when it would all be over for him. What Link needs is a true Shounen Jump manga to give him some new speed feats. Until then, Roy wins.

Unicron vs Link

Unicron
Link
Link will be able to put up a better fight than you may have guessed. His Skyward Slash serves as a decent projectile with a lot of attack power and he can also rely on his Light Arrows if need be. Link’s decisive slashes would certainly hurt Unicron, but the robot can simply spam his energy blasts from afar. It will be very difficult for Link to win an aerial battle so I’m going to have to say that he narrowly loses this fight. Unicron has tipped the scales in his favor here. Unicron wins.

Mundus vs Link

Mundus

Mundus makes his debut onto the blog and this guy is even more formidable than I could have guessed. He can shoot out powerful blasts of different elements and he can fly as an added bonus. Link is no stranger to fighting gods and monsters, but it’s safe to say that he won’t be winning this round. Thanks to the reboot, Mundus also got more of a humanoid form, although I’m not entirely sure that he would need it anyway. If Link can land a light arrow, that could be the match, but Mundus should be able to finish him off first. Mundus wins.

Link vs Dante

I like Link a lot, but I have to admit that he’s thoroughly outmatched by Dante. Dante outranks Link in every single combat area that matters. Power and Speed. He could run around Link a bunch of times and Link would never be able to tag him. A few good punches from Dante would also end the fight in the blink of an eye. I’m afraid that Link’s array of weapons will not be enough to win this time. Dante wins.

Sephiroth vs Link

Link is back on the blog, but he’s fighting a very powerful sword fighter. We already know that Sephiroth can end whole solar systems, but can he hope to overwhelm the Hero of Time in a battle of swords? I’d like to think that he can due to Sephiroth’s overwhelming speed. He was able to fight Cloud to a stand still and he can slice skyscrapers in half with a casual swing. I’m afraid that Link is a little out of his league here. Sephiroth wins.

Rand al’thor vs Link

Rand_al'Thor

Rand al’thor makes his mark on the blog with this fight, but he will not be able to win. His spells are formidable to be sure, but Link is no stranger to magic. He can counter Rand’s blasts with his Dins fire and Links agility will also ensure that he stays away from the magical attacks. His safest bet is just to destroy Rand as soon as the match begins with a good Light Arrow. I don’t see Rand surviving such an attack. Link wins.
