Tournament Smashers Episode 51 Dark Vader vs Didact

The 51st battle is now up!

Dark Vader was sitting atop his throne in the Death Star. “How long until we are at Ganon’s Fortress?” Dark Vader yelled at the Storm Trooper who was manning the controls. “Only a few more hours…Sir!” The Storm Trooper declared as he put the ship on full turbo. Suddenly a blast hit the Death Star and caused the ship to wobble. “BATTLE STATIONS!” a Storm Trooper yelled as he ran for the engine room.

The Engine Room blew up, which knocked all of the storm troopers into the escape pods. “Best of luck, Dark Vader,” they declared as the escape pods were shut off. “Foolishness!” Dark Vader yelled as he stood up and drew his light saber. “You’ve grown weak, Dark Vader,” Didact laughed as he appeared from the shadows. “Defend yourself,” Dark Vader declared as he slashed at Didact.

Didact stretched out his arm and Dark Vader felt a force pushing him back. “You can control, The Force!” Dark Vader said as he stretched out his arm as well and blocked The Force. “I prefer to call it, telekinesis,” Didact replied as he stretched out both arms. Dark Vader jumped towards Didact and prepared to deal the finishing strike. Didact rolled to the side and and punched Dark Vader to the ground.

“Impressive,” Dark Vader said as he got back up. “Knock me down, and I’ll come back a thousand times stronger,” Dark Vader bluffed as he readied his light saber. “I don’t believe that for a second!” Didact said as he charged at Dark Vader. Didact shot out another punch, but Dark Vader blocked with his light saber. Dark Vader took the chance to quickly punch Didact to the ground.

“You’re fast, but not fast enough,” Didact said as he took out a laser gun. “I grow weary of these annoyances,” Dark Vader declared as he emitted a strong burst of Force. It knocked Didact backwards and he dropped the gun. Didact jumped towards Dark Vader and used a roundhouse kick. Dark Vader ducked the blow and swung his sword upwards. Didact was no longer there and punched Dark Vader from behind. Dark Vader rolled with the blow and shot another blast of Force, which pinned Didact to the wall.

Didact used his telekinesis to free himself and fell to the ground just as Dark Vader’s light saber stabbed the wall. “You’re pretty quick,” Didact stated as he pressed a button. A hovercraft appeared and Didact grabbed hold of it as it started to fly away. “Until we meet again!” Didact yelled as the craft started gaining speed. “Not quite,” Dark Vader replied as he stopped the craft from moving with The Force. “The Force is too strong!” Didact yelled as he jumped off of the craft, but he was now wielding a gun.

“Take this!” Didact yelled as he fired off several energy blasts. Dark Vader parried them all with his light saber and even sent two of them back at Didact with The Force. Didact hit the ground, but quickly jumped back up. It wasn’t his best move, as Dark Vader grabbed him and threw Didact into the air. “I may have lost this round, but I’ll be back,” Didact declared as Dark Vader slashed him through the Death Star and into the dark void of space.

“That was a large waste of time,” Dark Vader said as he walked back to his throne. The Death Star was beyond repair and it wouldn’t hold up for long. Dark Vader would need to quickly land on a random planet and hope that they had advanced tech to repair the ship. He could sense some powerful life forms on the planet and he felt excited.

Thor vs Barbarus

Barbarus is decently strong, but he’s definitely not at Thor’s level. Thor could easily overpower Barbarus and take him out of the fight with a single strike. Barbarus drops down the ranks as he loses this battle. Thor has been on a roll lately and it’s just in time for the next Records. Thor wins.

Master of Games vs One Above All

One-Above-All_(Multiverse)
Master-of-Games
The One Above All is definitely a being to be feared and he’s known as quite possibly, the strongest being in all of media! He’s definitely not an opponent to be taken lightly, but he’s lost a lot of battles on the blog. While his reputation is still pretty strong, I wouldn’t take him to win this round. Master of Games wins.

Gatomon vs Pikachu

Pika Pika Gatomon
Gatomon has a lot of digievolutions and she’s going to need them against Pikachu. Once she’s in her Orphanimon Fallen Mode, Gatomon becomes a pretty dangerous opponent. Not even Pikachu’s immense speed will be able to dodge her attacks forever and he’ll eventually be defeated. Gatomon rises up the blog ranks with this win. Gatomon wins.

Starfire vs Silky

796108-starfire7
Silky is a bit of a major player in the Teen Titans show, but I’ve never been a fan. Starfire and Silky are pals, but if it came down to a fight, Silky wouldn’t stand a chance. Starfire has super speed and strength. Those two abilities will be more than enough to take Silky down in an instant. Starfire wins.

Space Godzilla vs Falco

sg 1
Falco2
Falco’s got his arwing and his laser blasters. With those at his disposal, I don’t see how Space Godzilla can defeat him. Space Godzilla is strong to be sure, but he definitely lacks speed. Falco can speed blitz him all day. Falco has finally taken a hard fought win! Falco wins.

Green Lantern Agent Orange Review

12907_900x1350

Green Lantern has been a pretty great comic book series for as long as I can remember. I can’t think of a single “bad” arc that has come out in the last decade. Maybe even longer! The GL franchise (Because it has spawned other stories about the Corps) always has solid art and great fight scenes. It’s also a blast to read because space battles are very enjoyable.

This collection covers the Agent Orange arc (Hence the title) and the final few pages lead into Blackest Night. The collection (Or Hal Jordan’s part of it) starts off with Hal Jordan still trying to get rid of his Blue Lantern Ring. (Personally, I’d keep it, since it amps up his GL ring and constantly recharges it. Likewise the GL ring does the same to the BL ring.) The Blue Lanterns are actually pretty mean…or not very understanding of the whole situation. They are attacked by Manhunters which is always a cause for concern, because this usually leads to intergalactic wars or very complicated situations.

Meanwhile, a group of really “tough” characters have infiltrated a cave. They have found the orange light of power and wish to claim it for themselves. With this power at their disposal, they can finally defeat the Red, Yellow, and Green Lanterns and conquer the galaxy! Their plans are quickly foiled and the leader of the Orange Lanterns, Larfleeze, declares war on the Green Lanterns. After all, these cave infiltrators were once affiliated with them. The Guardians respond by assembling the full might of the GL Core and attacking Larfleeze’s home planet (And they search the rest of the sector for fugitives)

Larfleeze is the main villain of the comic, but I can’t say that he’s one of my favorite characters. I didn’t really care for him and while his constructs are powerful, I’d take Hal over him in a fair fight. Luckily it wasn’t a fair fight for either of them. Hal Jordan had his BL ring to amp up his GL ring, and Larfleeze had his Orange power battery so that he could keep on charging his OL ring.(Keeping track of all the abbreviations?) Like him or not, Larfleeze is still a formidable foe and should be regarded as such.

Hal Jordan is still the main character and it’s definitely for a reason. He seems to be the most competent out of the Green Lanterns and he quickly takes the fight to Larfleeze. He single-handedly gives him a good fight, while the rest of the core are struggling against his constructs. His uniform also looks the coolest and the mask is pretty cool. I prefer when it’s hard/sharp as opposed to the Lone Ranger/Robin type of mask from the old days. Jordan was definitely my favorite character from the comic.

John Stewart gets a decently large role in the comic as well, but he just doesn’t seem as skilled as Hal. He ends up getting some help from one of his old enemies, but he still manages to take out a lot of Orange Lanterns. I can’t really say that I liked his character a lot, but I didn’t dislike him. He just didn’t leave a big impression.

Agent Orange is a pretty solid arc that I believe you will enjoy. All GL fans will certainly get a kick out of it and it’s very fun and easily accessible. New fans to the series shouldn’t be confused and the art is spectacular. The Guardians make a pretty controversial call towards the end, but they never were heroes now were they? The lead into Blackest Night is definitely epic and we see that some characters may be getting a role in the upcoming battles (Star Sapphire). You definitely won’t want to miss this collection!

Overall 7/10

Kitten vs Starfire

815066-014
Kitten is not much of a fighter and she wouldn’t be able to defeat Starfire. She may have put up a decent fight, but that was partially because it started out as a sneak attack. Starfire’s speed will allow her to dodge any attack that Kitten may attempt and counter with a match ending strike. Kitten wouldn’t be able to endure any attack that Starfire sends out. Starfire wins.

Red X vs Starfire

Ye
Red X is a very mysterious character and was one of the trickier fighters that the Titans faced. He’s about peak human in his stats and manages to give Robin a pretty good fight. Starfire has a high degree of super strength and speed so Red X won’t be a match for her. She takes another win and rises up the blog ranks. Starfire wins.

Cinderblock vs Starfire

801344-50
Cinderblock is pretty powerful and he has been a very tough opponent for all 5 titans at once. Starfire’s power should be able to keep up with him and the fact that she can fly and possesses a degree of super speed are some pretty serious advantages. Cinderblock won’t be able to defeat her in this round. Starfire wins.
