This is a tribute to the classic Hounds film of 1939. Sherlock Holmes is a great sleuth as always and uncovered the mystery right away. However, it won’t take nearly so much effort to take care of this little fish. Nemo can swim around quite a bit, but he has no real attacks while Holmes can easily use his jar to scoop Nemo up. Poor little guy never stood a chance. Sherlock Holmes wins.

This is a tribute to the Leprechaun movie. This guy may not be a villain who looks all that intimidating but he still has quite a lot of strength at his disposal. Losing to a mere human was too much for his hype to recover from though. Broly could just power up and that would be the end of the planet and this Leprechaun. Such power cannot be taken lightly. Broly wins.

Jake Pentecost vs Asta

This is a tribute to Pacific Rim Uprising. While Jake got to be a better character by the second half of the film, it wasn’t totally enough to save him. He was okay at best, but could really learn a thing or two from Asta who trained ever since he was a kid to be the very best. Jake quit when the going got tough, but Asta stuck with it and that’s why there is such a difference in power between the two fighters. Asta wins.

Sulley vs One Above All

This is a tribute to Monsters Inc. I’m tempted to give Sulley a loss since he looked really bad in the final fight, but for the most part he seemed like a pretty stand up guy so I’ll give him a pass there. His job is built around scaring people and I have a sneaking suspicion that even TOAA would feel a little fright upon meeting this guy. Don’t let Sulley’s happy design fool you, he can be quite fierce when he needs to be. A single punch would likely knock TOAA out of the fight. Sulley wins.

Nick Gant vs Roger Rabbit

This is a tribute to both the Roger Rabbit movie and Push. Roger looked very bad in his own film as he was knocked out and pushed around by basically everybody. Nick’s whole ability is that he can push people around so you can probably see where this is going. Roger will have a very hard time trying to survive in this match up as he has nowhere to run and certainly can’t fight in hand to hand combat. I don’t see any scenario here where he comes out on top so I’m afraid that it’s game over for this rabbit. Nick Gant wins.

Black Panther vs Man Ape

This is a tribute to Black Panther. Man Ape is one of those villains who is fairly iconic but didn’t really get much better in the modern comics. He used to be a credible threat to Black Panther but has long since been surpassed. While he looked good in the movie, he still isn’t ready to surpass the king. A fitting way for Black Panther to score his first win on the blog! Black Panther wins.

Lightning McQueen vs One Above All

This is a tribute to Cars 3. Lightning McQueen has done it again folks! He has managed to act like a seasoned veteran in this final film to close out the trilogy. He’s definitely a solid main character and his driving skills aren’t half bad either. I think it is fair to say that he would defeat the One Above All since he can extend his tires which allows him to punch people. TOAA would have a hard time dodging those punches. Lightning McQueen wins.

Mater vs Bass

This is a tribute to Cars 2 Mater is definitely not my favorite Cars character and I can’t say that the sequel really changed my mind on that. He just isn’t very smart and comes off as a big trouble maker the whole time. Bass has supreme speed and strength on his side so he has every advantage. Mater has his boost rockets, but even those won’t be enough to let him keep up with Bass. Bass wins.

This is a tribute to Cars. Lightning McQueen is definitely a fun race car and I can see why he has a lot of fans. He isn’t lacking in confidence and can definitely run a good race. Nemo is his polar opposite as the fish doesn’t have much confidence at all and isn’t very fast. At a glance you can probably tell who will win this fight. Nemo will just have a hard time dealing any damage here. Lightning McQueen wins.

Lightning McQueen vs Iron Giant

This is a tribute to The Iron Giant. The Iron Giant is definitely a powerful robot who can really fight when necessary. He makes the tough calls when the situation is bleak and as such, he will give this fight everything he’s got. I don’t really think Lightning McQueen would be able to keep up. He’s up against a giant of a fighter after all and pulling off some cool car tricks won’t be enough to slow this guy down. Iron Giant wins.
