Carlos Alvarez vs Bass

Carlos Alvarez isn’t a very well known character, but you have to admit that the name is pretty good. That’s really the only reason as to why he’s fighting on the blog. It may be a loss, but that’s all right. The important thing is that Carlos got to match his skills against an opponent who can crush whole planets. Maybe Carlos will return someday. Bass wins.

Prince Haru vs Gigan

PrinceHaru
Gigan_Modified
Gigan is a powerful Kaiju who could destroy Prince Haru in a single shot. His attacks are devastating and he can even teleport. Prince Haru has never faced such an opponent before and he wouldn’t fare too well against Gigan. Haru just doesn’t have any attacks that would do any damage to a being as durable as Gigan. Gigan wins.

NKVDemon vs Batman

batvndemon1-3
NKVDemon is pretty skilled in combat and he nearly had Batman on the ropes. I like to think that it was all part of Batman’s plan, but we can’t deny that NKVDemon has some skills. Batman would still win the fight since he’s better at hand to hand combat, but it would be a fun battle. Maybe NKVDemon will return at some point! Batman’s win streak for the 75th Anniversary continues with this victory. Batman wins.

Dedenne vs Marth

Marth vs Dedenne
Dedenne is a powerful thunder type Pokemon and while he doesn’t seem to be on Pikachu’s level; he’s still a dangerous opponent. Marth is a powerful swordfighter, but he lacks the feats that the greats like Roy posses. Speed is one of Dedenne’s big weapons and Marth just won’t be able to match that. Marth will go down against the laser blasts and eventually be taken down for the count. Dedenne wins.

Update 2/7/2019 Thanks to Fire Emblem Warriors Marth is strong and fast enough to win this round. Marth wins.

Batman vs Jakita

batvsjakita7
Jakita may be a skilled opponent, but she’s not ready to take Batman down for the count. Batman is better at hand to hand combat and he also has more long range options at his disposal. Jakita’s never dealt with a GL Power Ring before and she wouldn’t be able to defend against it. She will have to start off her blog career with a loss, but you can never keep a solid fighter down for long. Batman wins.

Hunter Steele vs Colonel

Hunter_Steele_icon_1

Hunter Steele may be a decent fighter, but he’s definitely not ready to fight someone as skilled as Colonel right now! Colonel is much faster and stronger than Hunter Steele, which does not help Steele’s chances. Colonel just needs one good sword slash to take Hunter Steele down for the count. Colonel wins.

Bullseye vs Batman

batvsbullseye-mvdc3
Bullseye never misses, but Batman always dodges so that presents us with a small problem. It’s very small because Batman’s athletics are far above Bullseye’s, so dodging will be a simple task. Batman will likely throw a smoke pellet at Bullseye and then take him out with a quick three hit combo. Bullseye doesn’t pose much of a threat to someone like Batman. Batman wins.

Mega Man vs Greninja

Mega Man Greninja
Mega Man is a pretty powerful opponent and I have to admit that Greninja would not stand a chance. He may be powerful, but this is Mega Man that we’re talking about! He has many different abilities and his physical stats are off the charts. Greninja wouldn’t be able to keep up with his speed and Mega Man can spam his Mega Buster attacks until Greninja goes down. Mega Man wins.

Batman vs Maul

batmaul-jlawildcats
Maul may look pretty impressive, but he’s no match for Batman! Batman’s been fighting crime for 75 years at this point and he’s seen all of the tricks that his opponents have to offer. Maul’s physical strength is nothing compared to Batman’s hand to hand techniques. There is a reason why Batman never loses after all! Batman wins.

Batman Beyond (2014) Review

download
Batman’s 75th Anniversary continues to bring us more animation that is not only cutting edge, but also DCAU styled. Strange Days was a pretty good animation and it even had a plot. This short is much….shorter, but we still get a basic plot and even a villain. There is a cliffhanger which can maybe be wrapped up in a future installment, but probably just in our minds!

The short starts out with Batman Beyond realizing that the Batcave has been infiltrated and Bruce (BATMAN) Wayne has already been dealt with. That’s when Batman appears, but he seems different somehow. Batman Beyond has no time to think about this as the fight begins. He’s on the losing end of the battle for a while and this is probably what fans would expect from a fight between the two. It’s definitely fun to see Batman beat him up, but technically Batman Beyond can definitely fight on par with him thanks to his super suit. Will Batman Beyond live through this experience!?

The ending is probably the best part of the short. We get some pretty epic music that all fans of the original TV show should recognize and we also notice that Batman Beyond is completely doomed. If Bruce Wayne doesn’t get into costume quickly…this will get ugly. The homages to the other versions of Batman were great and the best one would be the original or seeing the classic The Batman get in there.

The animation and color scheme was spot on from the original show. That’s what I want to see when I turn on my TV. 5 Star entertainment. The voice acting was superb as expected and a new season of this show would immediately be one of the best superhero shows around. I doubt that any of DC’s future shorts will be able to defeat this one unless they go ahead and make a Justice League version. (Which will probably happen at some point)

Overall, this was easily the best DC short so far. We got some incredible action and the villain was pretty impressive. Seeing the DCAU back in action is an inspiration to us all and it shows that DC still remembers how to put out an epic show. I highly recommend this short to all DC fans and really to fans of Marvel as well. Agents of Smash and Avengers Assemble could learn a few things from this short. Batman Beyond already looks more impressive than all of Marvel’s current superheroes in animation. Hopefully we get another animation soon!

Overall 9/10
