Dio Brando vs Sonic

DioBrando_ASB
Sonic has the edge in speed and he’s obtained many power ups over the years. He has the 7 Chaos Emeralds and he can also transform into Darkspine Sonic. I don’t want to underestimate Dio Brando, but he just won’t have enough skills to win this round. Sonic massively speed blitzes him for the win and Dio Brando just won’t have any defense against him. Sonic is just far too skilled to lose this round. Sonic wins.

Stranger vs Silver Surfer

250px-FantasyMasterpieces-5
The Stranger is back and now he’s up against the Silver Surfer. The Silver Surfer is very powerful and while he’s not quite as powerful as Thor, he’s still a very powerful opponent. The Stranger can fire immensely powerful energy blast, but so can the Silver Surfer! The Silver Surfer has the Power Cosmic and he can use his speed to evade the Stranger and take the win. Silver Surfer wins.

Wonder Woman Rumble in the Rainforest Review

9781434219923

This is the first Wonder Woman book that I’ve read from the DC novel series and unfortunately, I can’t say that it had a great start. The book has several villains and the threat is very real as our hero(s?) head out to fight one of the toughest mechs alive! How could this book not epicly succeed!?

The plot involves Wonder Woman as she sees a suspicious character and quickly realizes that the wildlife is in danger. The book goes into more detail so that this whole thing makes sense, but all that you need to know is that she’s after the villain. He’s a rich person who is basically protected by society since nobody can prove that he’s guilty. Well, Wonder Woman’s going to find some evidence and take him to prison! Things take an unexpected twist when she sees Gorilla Grodd and Poison Ivy duking it out. Can she defeat both of them or win them over to her side to fight the rich guy and his powerful mech?

The plot technically sounds exciting, but I don’t care for Gorilla Grodd and Poison Ivy. They’re hardly my favorite villains and their abilities are nothing special either. Wonder Woman should realistically be able to beat them with one punch and then take out the mecha with one punch as well. Unfortunately, that is not exactly how the fight went down.

It’s hard to explain why the book wasn’t so fun. It lacked the enjoyment that the other DC novels bring to the table and there were no real fight scenes. The Giant Mecha shouldn’t have been able to give her a decent fight and he’s just soooo slow. The ending was also extremely cheesy. I don’t think that Wonder Woman was written very well. None of the characters were written very well, but Wonder Woman stood out. It’s hard to explain why she was written badly, but she just didn’t feel like Wonder Woman to me. It was almost like she was in her Diana Prince personality for the entire story.

Overall, this is definitely not the DC novel that I would recommend for you. It may have had heart and emotion, but it wasn’t well done. I’m sure that the next one will improve this as the villains were the main problem. That being said, the writing also needs to improve for the next novel. If you want to see some cool superhero action, I recommend Superman Brainiac Attacks.

Overall 5/10

Thor vs Collector

2043522-__collect_true_f
The Collector doesn’t usually fight, but he’s actually pretty menacing in his true form. His strength is considerable and he is able to give Thor a solid fight, but he’s definitely not going to win that battle. The Collector doesn’t have Thor’s combat experience and his power isn’t quite as high tier as Thor’s degree of strength. Thor wins.

Thor vs Stranger

1529672-astonishing_thor__1_021
The Stranger is pretty powerful and not many Marvel characters have been known to match his power. He has taken Thor down in the past and he has plenty of feats at his disposal. That being said, Thor would win a rematch. Thor has a lot more battle experience than the Stranger and he’s defeated far stronger opponents in the past. Thor wins.

Pickman vs Nami

Nami
jl1
Pickman is back, but in the end he won’t be able to take down Nami. Nami just needs a good thunderbolt to take down Pickman for good. Pickman just never showed that much strength or speed in his very brief appearence. He definitely won’t be able to defeat such a powerful pirate. Nami wins.

Thanos vs Collector

1158489-thanos_collector_1
The Collector has a pretty intense level of strength, but he won’t have a shot against Thanos. Thanos has many abilities at his disposal and his Infinity Gems definitely give him a lot to work with. The Collector won’t be able to match up to Thanos and any hits that he lands will end up getting healed. Thanos is just too powerful! Thanos wins.

Marth vs Olimar

Olimar, no!
Olimar has his Pikmin at the ready, but I don’t believe that they will be enough to stop Marth in his tracks. Marth is an accomplished swordsman and he’s used to dealing with great odds. Olimar doesn’t have enough battle experience to deal with this and he’ll get outsmarted by Marth moments before he is defeated by his sword attacks. Marth wins.

Lego Marvel Superheroes Review

3max

Lego Marvel got a lot of hype when the release date drew near. DC has owned the Lego side of things for a long time and Marvel was finally ready to take what was rightfully theirs! This game would have over 100 characters and have a plot which would feature many well known heroes and villains. Was it a success!?

Well, the Story Mode has 14 levels. Each level has a final boss, but they also tend to have one (or more) other bosses before that point. Each level focuses on a different group of heroes (Some appear more than once, but it’s understandable since they’re so popular) and they go to challenge the villain. Spiderman ends up saving the heroes quite a few times.

The plot revolves around the fact that Loki has assembled a powerful villain group and they’re looking to get the Cosmic Bricks. Along the way, the Tesseract also gets involved and the Avengers must reclaim it. The plot starts off as being pretty Avengers centered, but don’t worry, The Xmen come to help as well. They get their own plot once the Tesseract is in their area and they’re forced to deal with the Juggernaut. It was good to see Cyclops back in action since it’s been so long and it was a very nostalgic experience. We don’t want to forget the Fantastic Four either and Mr Fantastic gets a decent role. The Thing tries to say his catchphrase a lot, but it may be tougher than he thinks.

The game is largely inspired by the MCU for the Avengers cast so it was especially interesting to see how they interacted with guys like Spiderman and the Xmen. Agent Coulson is pretty good in the game and he always seems to be on alert. Nick Fury is constantly sipping from his giant cup of soda (I assume that it is soda) and he’s always throwing the cup around, which is where Coulson comes in. Maria Hill also has a tendency to drop her cup as well, so Shield definitely shouldn’t be around fragile objects.

The ending of the game is pretty intense and you’ll want to stick around for the sequel. The sequel probably won’t be out for a while, but you can definitely keep busy in this game. Lego Marvel has a very large amount of replay value and there are so many things that you can do. The hub world is pretty huge and there are loads of side missions (The races are epic) and things that you can do to have fun. Once you are aboard the Hellicarrier, you can also access the shop for characters and other cool things. You can head to Deadpool’s room and read some comics, or you can even make your own character. With all of the characters around, I don’t think that you’ll need to make anyone, but it can be fun to see yourself fighting super villains.

After beating all of the levels the first time, you can go back to rescue Stan Lee and collect all of the collectibles. If you don’t want to use the same characters, you can bring anyone that you want. From Thanos to Galactus to Agent Coulson, the game’s made sure to give you a very solid arsenal of characters. Each character has a specific type which enables him/her to break certain kinds of blocks or use their powers to the fullest. You’ll want to find the right combinations to get everything right on the first go.

The comedy isn’t bad either. The characters are used for comedy, but you should be prepared for that if you’re buying a lego game. Captain America gets a lot of good lines and while the villains may not come across as smoothly, they do their best. The animation is lego centered so it’s not going to look like Mario Galaxy 2, but the facial expressions are pretty fun. Iron Man and Nick Fury tend to have the best expressions from all of the characters. The gameplay is similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance. There are less attacks per character, but with such a large roster, we can definitely overlook that. If you like overhead, then you’ll definitely like the gameplay a lot. Either way, you’ll enjoy flying as it is done pretty well. I still haven’t mastered the controls, but you can definitely cover a lot of ground in a very short amount of time.

This is a pretty fun game to buy. There are a ton of Marvel references to be on the lookout for and it’s a nice way to get to know the universe. My only warning would be that the game does have some glitches (Getting stuck in between a wall and a bush for example) but you can always exit and come back later. If you’re in two player mode, then you can just have the second player blow you up which will sometimes end the glitch. As I mentioned earlier, there is a lot of replay value so this game should last you a long time. You definitely get your money’s worth with this purchase and I’m sure that you’ll enjoy the game.

Overall 7/10

Aquaman vs Graves

2564005-aquaman_breaks_graves
Aquaman possesses a great degree of physical strength and Graves won’t be able to stop him. Graves has taken many opponents down in the past, or at least had some temporary wins. That just won’t be enough to stop someone of Aquaman’s level and Graves will be taking a hard loss. Aquaman has taken on Superman in the past after all! Aquaman wins.
