Nebula Lord Dragon vs Ra Mu

Suggested by Sonic Nebula Lord Dragon is one of the strongest Link Joker cards. He has a wide array of attacks including energy abilities and locking down other opponents. Ra Mu’s defense is very high so it will take time to defeat him. Time is on Nebula’s side though thanks to Ra Mu’s lack of speed. Mu’s greatest weakness is that he is not very mobile which does mean you have a chance to defeat him with hit and run tactics if you’re strong enough. Nebula Lord does have the speed to accomplish this and his power level is 11000 so dealing damage won’t be a problem. Nebula Lord Dragon wins.

Gagaga Girl vs Skull Knight

Suggested by Sonic Gagaga Girl is a pretty fun character. She has some decent energy blasts at her disposal and can fly which is handy. In sheer stats Skull Knight is superior though. Her mobility makes this a close fight either way, but there is one big deciding factor. Skull Knight actually decided to be a duelist once and had a real deck. There’s no way Gagaga Girl can get around that because now Skull Knight has access to several monsters and traps. Gagaga Girl will be too heavily outnumbered to really fight back. Skull Knight wins.

Pokemon Trainer vs Chikorita

Suggested by Sonic The Pokemon Trainer is a skilled fighter who even made his way into Super Smash. He commands the 3 legendary starters of Kanto although he only fully evolved one of them. That will be enough though as Charizard is hard to beat in combat. Furthermore, if Charizard is teaming up with Squirtle and Ivysaur then that’s going to be really difficult for Chikorita to deal with even with her evolutions. She won’t be able to win this one. Pokemon Trainer wins.

Bizarro vs Smaug

Suggested by Sonic Bizarro is a very powerful Superman villain who has actually been said to be stronger than the Man of Steel at times. Regardless that is more than enough power to take down Smaug. Smaug is a strong dragon who can burn whole buildings but Bizarro just needs one punch to clear him out of orbit. There’s not much the dragon can do when his opponent is both faster and stronger than him. Bizarro wins.

Cygnus Wing vs Baby Bop

Suggested by Destroyer Cygnus Wing is a skilled aerial fighter. Baby Bop can try to use her natural defenses to block his attacks but that won’t work for long. Wing’s abilities are too powerful and he also has the massive speed advantage. He can just grab Baby Bop and throw her into the air which would put her in a pretty bad spot. Baby Bop desperately needs some kind of power up in order to turn the tables and make this an even fight. Cygnus Wing wins.

Midgard Serpent vs Baby Bop

Suggested by Destroyer The Midgard Serpent is a giant monster who has given Thor some trouble back in the day. His sheer size makes this match end in an instant because just falling on Baby Bop would end the match. Baby Bop can use the size difference to her advantage and hide a bit, but at the end of the day the Serpent has all day and only needs one hit to win. Baby Bop can delay the inevitable but with no actual way to cause any damage she can’t win. Midgard Serpent wins.

Sailor Jupiter vs Baby Bop

Suggested by Destroyer Jupiter is next in line to take care of Baby Bop. This isn’t a great matchup for Baby Bop because Jupiter’s electric abilities hit fast and hard. There’s no way Baby Bop will be quick enough to dodge these moves and I also doubt that her durability would last long against them either. Jupiter is just in another league in terms of ability here and won’t be going down very easily especially since Baby Bop will have a hard time landing a hit. Sailor Jupiter wins.

Sailor Venus vs Baby Bop

Suggested by Destroyer Sailor Venus is another scout here to give Baby Bop a hard time. Venus has some mild hand to hand skills but you could make the case that Baby Bop may have some super strength being a dinosaur and all. Venus will have to break out her super powers and with those this should be a very easy win. She can fire off energy blasts and has an energy rope as well. Baby Bop has no supernatural abilities of her own to fight with so this will be a quick battle. Sailor Venus wins.

Sailor Mercury vs Baby Bop

Suggested by Destroyer Baby Bop is a pretty well known character. I’m not exactly sure how well liked she is, but I’m sure she has fans. That being said, Baby Bop isn’t really much of a fighter so there’s nothing she can do against Mercury. Mercury has her water and ice abilities at the ready and Bop has no real defenses against those. She will quickly be overwhelmed by such an offensive onslaught. Sailor Mercury wins.

FIFA 13 Review

It feels like it’s been a long time since I got to play a FIFA game so this was pretty nostalgic. Interestingly the game only lets you operate the menus with a wireless controller so I had to break out my original PS3 controller over the wired one I’ve been using for a while now. I do prefer the wireless one in general, but the controls have been glitched for a little while where it moves to the left and right at times. Fortunately this didn’t have a real impact on the gameplay since it’s too subtle to register while running all over the place.

There are a ton of modes to check out here including a franchise, training, quick games, and more. Naturally I went straight to the quick game because that’s just how I roll. I don’t need build up or anything like that, I’m just ready to jump in and have a blast. While the game is loading you can practice your shots on an empty field. Then it’s game time after that. I’ve played quite a few FIFA games before so the controls were all pretty familiar. FIFA is one of those games that doesn’t really change a whole lot after all. The graphics may improve a little and all, but that’s about it.

The goal of the game is to kick the ball into the opponent’s net. Once you’ve done this then you will be awarded a point. You then have to prevent the opponent from doing the same to you. The games are around 90 minutes but the matches don’t take that long in real time. I was able to finish 3 games in an hour so they take around 20 minutes a piece. You can shoot or pass the ball and on defense you can slam into opponents or go for a passive block. I prefer lunging but you do have to be careful when you do it because it’s very easy to rack up some fouls this way. You don’t want to be thrown out of the game or anything, but it seems like it would take a very long time for that to happen so I wouldn’t even worry about that all that much.

I actually did very well in the first match as I won 3-1. It’s rare for me to really score at all so that was pretty cool. I lost the second game 2-1 and lost in overtime after being tied 1-1 during the game. It’s still a pretty difficult game if you ask me since it’s so hard to score, but it does make it very satisfying when you do eventually find the net. If you keep at it long enough then eventually you are bound to score a goal. Passing is the key here but it’s hard to get the A.I. to go where you want them to. If you can have one of your partners above or under you when closing in on the net then it will be an easy goal. Pass and shoot as soon as you get the ball. You have to do this quickly though because the other team runs in very quickly and definitely won’t give you time to catch your breath. They want the goals just as badly.

The graphics are pretty solid. You always know what is happening on screen and the FIFA games have never disappointed there. It’s hard to fault anything about the game on those merits. The soundtrack is more on the nonexistent side but it won’t bother you much while you’re busy trying to make plays. In terms of replay value there is quite a lot here. Naturally you won’t be able to play online at this point, but that won’t stop you from playing a lot of soccer games over and over. That is ultimately the reason you would buy a soccer game in the first place right? So there’s no shortage of content here and since you can buy the game for a dollar or two that’s not a bad idea.

Overall, FIFA 13 is a pretty solid Soccer game. It can hold its own with all of the entries. As always you do have to consider the fact that there is really little reason to buy this one when you can buy a newer one for the same price, but that doesn’t mean the game is any worse in comparison. It’s just how it goes. With this I have nearly all of the FIFA games which is pretty cool. I don’t buy sport games quite as frequently as I used to, but they are still nice for a change of pace. Madden and NBA will always be my two favorite though. I just feel more in control in those titles and the gameplay is so explosive. I don’t know which sport game I’ll review next. Only time will tell.

Overall 7/10
