Kingler vs Terra (TT)

Suggested by Sonic Terra is a skilled rock user although the elements are not in her favor in this round. Kingler is a water type so the rocks won’t have quite the same effect on him. Additionally, he knows a whole variety of moves that are great from long range which will hurt Terra since that is usually her specialty. She will have a hard time keeping up with this Pokemon. His claws will shred any rocks that come his way and he’s also fast enough to stay one step ahead of Terra the whole time. Kingler wins.

Blog Announcement: High Aboves Rule is no longer in effect

There was a long standing rule that the 9 fighters selected as High Aboves were immune from defeat on the blog. That rule has been here since the inception of the blog back in 2010. Well, this rule has now been terminated effective 8/7/2020. All matches for these fighters have been reviewed for 8/9 of them. The 9th will be concluded today. This means that now all blog fighters fight on an equal playing field and there have been a lot of changes. The next installment of Records is sure to look quite different.

In total between the 9 high aboves there were 45 overturned battles and one new one. (Kaiba vs Jaden was previously nulled)

In order they were

Bass 0
Kaiba 1
Jaden 1
Vegeta 2
Bly 4
Sasuke 4
Grimmjow 4
Train 13
Ryoma 16

Flashy Flash vs Ryoma

Flashy Flash has returned again but this time he is up against the tennis expert known as Ryoma. Ryoma’s landed a ton of good wins over the years and this one will be no different. Flashy Flash may be able to go faster than light with incredible S tier fighting power but Ryoma unlocked the Pinnacle of Perfection. Mix that with his high above status and there’s just no way he could take a loss here. It’s a mantle of victory that he wears proudly. Without the high above rule though, the hyperbole is’t enough. Flashy Flash wins.

Last Dragonborn vs Atrocitus

The Last Dragonborn is a tough guy who has had to survive natural ailments and a lot of dragons. Pretty much every force of nature has had a swing at him and the Dragonborn is still going. That won’t be enough to stop a Red Lantern though. Atrocitus has a whole lot of energy attacks at his disposal but his typical go to is pure force. He can barrel into Dragonborn at incredible speed which would take him out of the fight in an instant. There’s just not much he could do at that point and Atrocitus can fly which gives him a huge edge. Atrocitus wins.

Canderous Ordo vs Heathcliff

Ordo is a tactical commander so it’s fitting that he take on Heathcliff. Heathcliff is a whole lot more powerful though and it really helps that he got to grow up in Aincrad where humans are capable of great abilities that just wouldn’t be possible in the real world. Try as Ordo might, he would not be able to catch Heathcliff without a very advanced course on The Force. Heathcliff’s absolute defense will prevent any of Ordo’s attacks from going through. Heathcliff is also fast enough to bring the fight to Ordo at any time. Heathcliff wins.

Sagittarius Aiolos vs Double

Double is a tough Megaman fighter and definitely not someone you want to underestimate. He’s fairly fast and strong with a good amount of variety in his attacks. It just won’t be enough though. Aiolos is a whole lot faster and also has more combat experience. He won’t fall for any tricks that Double may try to pull off and he is durable enough where even if a trick would work, it wouldn’t deal any damage. Aiolos is incredibly durable and could take hits from Double for a long time and not feel a thing. Sagittarius Aiolos wins.

Phoenix Ikki vs Shiro Tagami

Shiro Tagami is a tough fighter who has been around the block a few times but he is definitely outmatched here against Ikki. Phoenix Ikki was more powerful than Shiro even back when he was a villain during the very early days of Saint Seiya. He’s grown to be millions of times more powerful since then so when you take all of that into perspective then Shiro is really doomed here. Shiro isn’t meant to fight guys who can destroy entire galaxies and it’s hard to get around that. Phoenix Ikki wins.

Meetra Surik vs Shademan

Meetra is a pretty skilled Force fighter. She has good sword skills and Force abilities to back her up here but they won’t be enough to stop Shademan. Shademan has proven himself as a skilled fighter on many occasions. He would be fast enough to stop Meetra’s attacks and his technique: Noise Crush will also prevent her from getting close. It’s a very solid attack that has great range and is hard to get around. Mix that in with his general durability and Meetra is in trouble. Shademan wins.

Dragon Shiryu vs Cinderace

Cinderace is a fighting type so it stands to reason that he would be able to put up a better hand to hand fight than most of the other Pokemon. That is absolutely true but at the same time it’s still not saying a whole lot here. Shiryu easily wins in both speed and power. I dare say that his pure technique is also a lot better but I imagine that would be a little more debatable which is fine. Technique just doesn’t play much of a factor here when the difference in ability is so great. It gets rid of any chance of this being an actual competition of equal skill. Dragon Shiryu wins.

Flashy Flash vs Lumine

Lumine is one of the more powerful villains in Megaman X. Her abilities are definitely very impressive and I don’t think Flashy Flash would be able to last very long against them if he didn’t have so much speed. We can’t ignore the speed though as it shapes the entire fight. Lumine just won’t be able to do anything against that level of ability. Flashy will remain one step ahead of her the entire time and even if she were to fire off her complete arsenal at once none of the hits would even come remotely close to hitting this S rank hero. Flashy Flash is just too far above her level. Flashy Flash wins.
