Francesca Findabair vs Asia Argento

Suggested by iKnowledge Francesca Findabair is said to be a very skilled sorceress, but what hurts her here is the fact that she has never really gotten to appear in the games. We know of her skills, but seeing them in action is always more helpful with really establishing a character’s abilities. Additionally, Asia can make powerful barriers which will protect her from such attacks. While Asia is not usually known as much of a fighter, she can harness elemental abilities to fire projectiles of her own and speed isn’t one of Francesca’s strong suits. She may be able to block the blasts for a period of time, but ultimately they will catch up to her. Asia Argento wins.

Meteor Man vs Saitama

This is a tribute to the film Meteor Man. This guy lucked into his powers but never really got the hang of them and ultimately squandered every opportunity. In comparison Saitama immediately took his new skills in stride and started taking down all of the nearby monsters. He’s a hero for fun, but one who certainly does get a lot of results. It won’t take long for him to claim victory. Saitama wins.

Seiuchin vs Kuma

Suggested by iKnowledge Seiuchin and Kuma are both proud warriors who bring their 100% into the ring for every fight. They don’t go down easy so the question here is really who would be able to endure the other character’s attacks for the longer period of time. My money’s got to go with Seiuchin on this one because the guy has really been shown to take a beating. Additionally he simply has more attack options at his disposal like his spinning tackles while Kuma is a pure hand to hand fighter. Nothing wrong with that, but it does make him more predictable. Seiuchin wins.

Alice Gehabich vs Mai

Suggested by iKnowledge Alice Gehabich is a pretty powerful Bakugan brawler. She may not have a whole lot of monsters when compared to the average Yugioh duelist, but each monster is pretty powerful. This is one of those cases where quantity beats quality though. In addition to having the larger army at her disposal Mai also has a large array of spell and trap cards which will really tip the scales in her favor. There are too many tricks at Mai’s disposal which will completely halt Alice’s progress. I don’t see how she will be able to get past them. Mai wins.

Geemel vs Greninja

Suggested by Anonymous Geemel is definitely one of the lesser known Mega Man X villains, but he’s still got some skills in his own right. He can throw around the shruiken with pinpoint accuracy and a whole lot of speed. His fighting style is similar to Greninja’s in a lot of ways, but the Pokemon definitely has the edge here. Not only is Greninja faster than Geemel, but he’s also got a whole lot more raw power and a wider attack arsenal. Mix those attributes up and you’ve got a fairly one sided match here. Greninja wins.

Erica Baxter vs Namora

Suggested by iKnowledge Erica Baxter is a fairly skilled mermaid, but her abilities aren’t quite as outlandish as Namora’s. Namora has a solid degree of super strength and super speed which continue to aid her in combat even once she is on land. Erica’s boosts aren’t nearly as drastic and so she will be completely outmatched here. Namora is essentially a stronger version of Erica. Namora wins.

Bone Bandit Review

It’s time for one of those really quick Disney shorts. In this one Pluto gets to take center stage as he has to protect his bones from a local gopher who is trying to steal them. Right away I think it’s safe to say that you will be on team Pluto. It is his bones after all so I don’t think there is really a debate on if they belong to him or not. Furthermore, I would argue that Pluto wasn’t even picking the fight. Most of the time it was just the little animal being naughty.

The ending is very important for a special like this because if Pluto were to lose then that just wouldn’t be satisfying ending. A good deal of the special also deals with these flowers that are on the field which Pluto is allergic to. This is meant to balance the fight a bit as otherwise Pluto could just step on the little guy and be done with it. Fortunately Pluto is able to adapt to the situation pretty quick so he’s always ready for what is about to happen next.

It’s a decent special, but definitely on the weaker side of things. It’s mainly just a slapstick fight between the two of them, but Pluto can’t hold his own special nearly as well as Mickey or Donald in that regard. Since Pluto can’t talk we don’t really get to see his reactions to what’s happening. He’s also a lot more innocent than the other characters so you’ll probably just feel bad for him. It’s a very old special so it’s not very mean spirited or anything like that, but at the same time you wouldn’t say that it’s all that fun either. It’s a short special that will just come and go without too much thinking on it.

As I mentioned the ending is definitely what helps it stay afloat since Pluto got to defend his turf. He also had a pretty good feat with the sneeze and the whole neighborhood blowing up at the end was pretty unexpected. I wonder if the little guy will ever appear again. On the wiki he is just referred to as a Gopher so the fact that he doesn’t have an actual name seems to hint that he never got to be a big character. I suppose they can’t all grow to be household names though.

The animation is definitely pretty good. I do miss the smooth hand drawn nature of these specials back before everything started going into CGI land. What’s wrong with a nice hand drawn adventure right? You can feel the care that goes into all of the scenes and the visuals also just age extremely well. You wouldn’t think that it’s been many decades since this short aired because it is animation that could hold its own against a lot of the modern cartoons. Some styles just age better than others and this is definitely one of them.

Overall, Bone Bandit is a cautionary tale to us all that you always have to look after your stuff. Watch out because there are burglars everywhere and taking them down is very difficult. Pluto protected his grounds though and showed us why Mickey trusts him with the house. I’d be down for a new Mickey Mouse film with Pluto showing up. I still don’t think Pluto is ready for his own movie, but as a supporting character he can definitely help make the experience more fun. If you haven’t seen this special yet then you should check it out since it’s so short. A shortened version of it is up on Youtube, but it seems to be heavily edited since it is even shorter than the version I saw. I’m not sure if that’s the way to go, but I suppose it should be pretty similar.

Overall 5/10

Kakuzu vs Black Tom Cassidy

Suggested by Destroyer Black Tom Cassidy has always been more of an underling than a mastermind so he is already below Kakuzu when you’re comparing their tactical awareness levels. Kakuzu is able to control his spirits and fight at the same time so he is able to multi task quite well. Tom’s staff may prove to be some trouble here, but Kakuzu can endure some hits if necessary on his way to victory. Such attacks certainly wouldn’t end him. Kakuzu wins.

Kakuzu vs Cancer Bubble

Suggested by Destroyer Cancer Bubble has never been the most impressive Star Force character. He’s considerably stronger than Bubbleman, but he still isn’t quite ready to take down someone like Kakuzu. Kakuzu has solidified himself as a true threat over the years and he will very quickly overwhelm Cancer Bubble with his speed and power. Bubble won’t be able to find any openings for a clean shot. Kakuzu wins.

Kakuzu vs Elastic Waistband

asdf

Suggested by Destroyer The Elastic Waistband has returned, but I don’t really think that there is a lot he can do here. He can try to wrap around Kakuzu, but that’s a bad idea since this Akatsuki member does have super strength. He could potentially rip the Waistband off of him and that would not be an ideal ending for this elastic fighter. He also can’t dodge the elemental attacks for long so this will be a quick match. Kakuzu wins.
