Frankenstein vs Kaiba

This is a tribute to Bride of Frankenstein. Frankenstein has never been my favorite monster and no film has really been able to really change my view on that. He is just not an interesting villain. Moreover, he doesn’t have the speed or power to deal with someone like Kaiba. Kaiba has a whole army of monsters at his beck and call and they will completely shut down any attack that Frankenstein attempts. He is simply outmatched here. At most, he can surrender and hope for the best. Kaiba wins.

Gamera vs Howard The Duck

Suggested by JimmyBiscuits Howard The Duck is a classic Marvel character and one who is well liked. I haven’t gotten a chance to read any of his comics yet, but he definitely seems like he’d be a fun guy. I got to read a team up with him and Spider-Man and he was definitely written very well there. If you need a quick laugh, Howard’s your guy. That being said, he doesn’t really have enough power to take on a Kaiju. He got a magical scepter once and a cool suit of armor another time, but Howard just isn’t very tough. His small size may seem like it’s useful for dodging, but he’s not particularly quick either. I don’t think he has it in him to win this round. Gamera wins.

Guts Man vs Bass

Suggested by Blake It’s time for another Bass match and I’m always up for one of those. Lets face it, Guts Man won’t even be able to keep this close. I prefer not to be so candid, but we have to face the facts here. The strongest attacks at Guts Man’s arsenal won’t even be able to get past the cloak of Bass. Guts Man could also be destroyed before he even has time to blink and that’s not very fun. He’s just completely out of his league, but then again…who isn’t when faced with the matchless power of Bass? Bass wins.

Spiderman vs Wesker

Suggested by Jeremy Wesker is a popular Resident Evil villain and the hype is well deserved. He’s a really cool character and one that I can definitely get behind. That being said, he really doesn’t stand a chance against Spiderman. Spiderman has attained many abilities over the years and they make this a stomp. Spiderman without any augmentations against Wesker would be a really good fight though. Wesker is certainly much faster than Spiderman, but the spider sense would help to negate that. Honestly, I may have to go with Wesker in a normal match, but it’d be close. Spiderman wins.

Batman vs Larry Appleton

Suggested by Anonymous This also serves as a tribute to Lego Justice League Cosmic Clash. Batman stole the show once again with all of his witty one liners and the rest of the cast simply couldn’t keep up with him. Batman saved the day over and over again as many times as was necessary. I don’t think Larry would have lasted long in the same situation and he simply doesn’t have Batman’s experience or hand to hand combat. Batman would take him out as easily as he takes out the average thug, maybe even easier. Batman wins.

Aang vs Link

Suggested by Eric Aang is actually pretty strong by the end of the series and has many elemental abilities that work to his favor. That being said, he’s fighting the Hero of Time now. Link’s not just any other foe and he’s been through more dungeons than I’d like to count. He completely outmaneuvers Aang and his array of weapons will ensure that he always has the upper hand. One good Light Arrow will end this and Link’s Master Sword can also overwhelm Aang with energy blasts coupled with Link’s skilled swordplay. Link wins.

Yami Yugi vs One Above All

Suggested by Anonymous With the Yugioh film coming closer, it makes sense that Yami would return to the fray. While he is not completely confirmed to show up in the film, I am certainly banking on it! The One Above All has a lot of hype to hide behind, but I somehow don’t think that his omnipotence would help all that much in a duel. Yami has the heart of the cards on his side as well as a lot of tried and true strategies for success. Good luck to the One Above All trying to overcome that! Yami Yugi wins.

Zanya Kisaragi vs Luffy

This is a tribute to One Piece Film: Gold. Luffy may not have looked all that tough this time around, but he scored the win when it counted and was as determined as ever. Zanya could use some of that determination as he’s all but quit Buddyfight lately. He really needs to put in the work if he wants to continue to get stronger as a duelist and he’ll need to get much stronger to take Luffy down. Right now, Zanya would lose almost as soon as the match has begun and none of his cards are strong enough to take this rubber man down. Luffy wins.

Zanya Kisaragi vs Totsuo Doai

unnamed
Suggested by Sonic It’s a double debut in this match. Doai is fairly skilled as he managed to become the second in command of one of the fiercest Buddyfight Schools on the planet. That being said, it won’t be enough to stop Zanya. Zanya was one of the strongest Buddyfighters in the first season and his skills have long since surpassed Doai’s. While neither one of them have been relevant in the show for a while, it’s clear who the victor here is. Zanya would also win if it came down to a hand to hand fight.

Vandal Savage vs Kirito

Suggested by IKnowledge It’s time for the hero of the virtual world to return and face off against the immortal titan. Vandal Savage’s immortality is really his best trick as his abilities have never been all that impressive otherwise. He has some decent super strength as well as a very powerful fire sword. He’ll never hope to defeat Kirito in a battle of blades though and Kirito can run circles around him all day. There really isn’t anything that Vandal Savage can hope to do to keep Kirito at bay. He’s simply outmatched here and immortality doesn’t work too well when you’ve been sliced and diced. Kirito wins.
