Wonder Woman vs Griffith

Femto2
Suggested by iKnowledge Griffith is one of Guts’ biggest enemies and one of the stronger characters in the series. He isn’t quite deity level like some of the other villains, but his speed is close to that of Guts and he possesses more special abilities which aid him in a fight. One such ability is telekinesis which is always handy and it will help him hinder Wonder Woman’s movements to a degree. Griffith will still have the edge in speed and while his attack power doesn’t seem quite as impressive as Guts’, it is at a very close level. Griffith wins.

Guts vs Wonder Woman

Berserk_v1_p190
Suggested by iKnowledge It’s time for Wonder Woman to enter the fray in a gauntlet of 2 back to back fights against Berserk characters. She would certainly be able to overpower Guts in his normal form, but his armor may make him a little too quick. She can likely still keep up with him as far as power is concerned, but speed is where he has the edge. She will have a hard time countering his blows and as his power is high enough to harm her, I don’t think Wonder Woman will be able to come out on top here. His attack range is too great and backed up by his speed that is lethal here. Guts wins.

Chief Wiggum vs Nami

Simpsonsworld_social_og_wiggum_1200x1200
Suggested by Adrogoz Chief Wiggum is one of those police chiefs who doesn’t do a lot of work, but will still show up in time for the donuts. If anything it is rather admirable, but that won’t be enough for him to win this round. Nami can easily zap him with a thunder bolt and then that will be the end of him. The Chief just isn’t much of a fighter so he can hardly be expected to react in time to an attack like that. Nami wins.

Segata Sanshiro vs Dipsy

Suggested by Adrogoz Segata Sanshiro is a skilled martial artist so it’s no surprise that he can take down Dipsy. Dipsy is a nice character and all, but at the end of the day a Telletubby just isn’t much of a fighter. There isn’t anything Dipsy can do to land any damage here so the fight is effectively over as soon as it has begun. Segata Sanshiro wins.

Frosty The Snowman vs The BioLizard

Suggested by Destroyer Frosty The Snowman is a nice enough guy who can fight when necessary. He doesn’t melt as quickly as the average Snowman either. That being said, The BioLizard can still beat him with a single energy blast. Frosty isn’t very fast if we’re being honest so taking him down will be child’s play for this Ultimate Life Form. It’s hard for two FTL Hedgehogs to dodge him so just think about that for a moment. The BioLizard wins.

Jigglypuff vs Fox

Suggested by Sonic Fox is a good pilot and his Arwing has gotten him through many fights. That being said, it’s difficult to take down a smaller opponent like Jigglypuff. She has a variety of attacks up her sleeve like Hyper Beam, Thunder, and more. Fox can reflect some of the attacks, but he isn’t quite fast enough to dodge forever and getting close to Jigglypuff will be incredibly difficult. He is simply outgunned here and while his tech will make it close, he just won’t be close enough. Jigglypuff wins.

Mega Man vs Samus

Suggested by Sonic Samus is a strong fighter and certainly one of Nintendo’s most powerful protagonists. Her speed is at a high level and her Zero Laser is likely more powerful than any of Mega Man’s attacks. Mega Man does still have the edge physically though as we’ve seen what he is capable of in titles like Gigamix. He has more defense than Samus and what he lacks in martial art skills he makes up for in his large arsenal of abilities. Samus won’t be able to get past his skills and experience. Mega Man wins.

Omega Shenron vs Gemini Spark

Suggested by Destroyer Well, I like Omega Shenron as much as the next guy, but he is definitely pretty overpowered. I can’t really see him needing to do much to stop Gemini Spark since he is considerably faster and stronger. He can erase universes after all and while Spark is a pretty good fighter in his own right, he still won’t be able to claim victory here. He will witness true power. Omega Shenron wins.

Saitama vs Goku

Suggested by Son Goruto Uzumaki Saitama is a very powerful fighter who can destroy most opponents with a single attack. That is indeed impressive but I don’t think it will be enough to defeat Goku. Goku is on a whole other level. Once he activates Super Saiyan Blue then the match is all over. Saitama isn’t nearly as fast as Goku nor is his destructive power as high. Goku has got a serious advantage here and his superior martial arts will help as well. Goku wins.

Mr. Duck Steps Out Review

Mr Duck Steps Out focuses on how it can be tough to babysit while hanging out with a friend. Donald has to face off against his nephews while impressing Daisy at the same time. Can it be done? Well, this might not be such a hard feat if the nephews weren’t actively trying to sabotage him. I have to say that I was rooting for Donald here since the kids were just being unreasonable the whole time.

The only questionable thing Donald did was take away their present to give to Daisy but he gave each of them an ice cream in exchange which is a really fair price if you ask me. I’m sure Donald would make it up to them at a later date as well. At the very least they shouldn’t have decided to take revenge over something like that. I’ve never been a big fan of the nephews and this appearance certainly did not help their case in the slightest.

Daisy doesn’t really have much in the way of character here so it’s hard to say much here. She is oblivious to everything around her which is part of the humor for the special but it also means that she is barely a character here. I suppose she seems nice enough so maybe she will get more to do in a future special.

Donald is certainly the MVP here as he does his best to get past the traps of his nephews. He gets them out of the way whenever possible and even seamlessly gets back into the dance or whatever other activity was going on. Donald is always ready to go with the flow and even intentional sabotage is rarely enough to stop him.

The animation is pretty solid as always. The Living Popcorn routine with Donald was certainly animated pretty well. The scene where you see the initial Corn in the Cob transforming into popcorn is definitely solid. It is very detailed and shows the step by step process the animators went through back in the day. It’s a Disney special so I certainly expected as much from them.

Overall, This was a pretty fun special. It’s not nearly as good as most of the other ones as the plot is a bit thin and the nephews are too annoying but it’s solid nonetheless. I’d recommend checking it out if you like the Disney specials or if you just want to watch a high energy special for a few minutes. Something is always happening on screen and typically it involves a lot of running and smashing. We’ll see if the next specials can top this one.

Overall 6/10
