Saitama vs Goku

Saitama_being_serious

Suggested by Son Goruto Uzumaki Saitama is a very powerful fighter who can destroy most opponents with a single attack. That is indeed impressive but I don’t think it will be enough to defeat Goku. Goku is on a whole other level. Once he activates Super Saiyan Blue then the match is all over. Saitama isn’t nearly as fast as Goku nor is his destructive power as high. Goku has got a serious advantage here and his superior martial arts will help as well. Goku wins.

Mr. Duck Steps Out Review

Mr Duck Steps Out focuses on how it can be tough to babysit while hanging out with a friend. Donald has to face off against his nephews while impressing Daisy at the same time. Can it be done? Well, this might not be such a hard feat if the nephews weren’t actively trying to sabotage him. I have to say that I was rooting for Donald here since the kids were just being unreasonable the whole time.

The only questionable thing Donald did was take away their present to give to Daisy but he gave each of them an ice cream in exchange which is a really fair price if you ask me. I’m sure Donald would make it up to them at a later date as well. At the very least they shouldn’t have decided to take revenge over something like that. I’ve never been a big fan of the nephews and this appearance certainly did not help their case in the slightest.

Daisy doesn’t really have much in the way of character here so it’s hard to say much here. She is oblivious to everything around her which is part of the humor for the special but it also means that she is barely a character here. I suppose she seems nice enough so maybe she will get more to do in a future special.

Donald is certainly the MVP here as he does his best to get past the traps of his nephews. He gets them out of the way whenever possible and even seamlessly gets back into the dance or whatever other activity was going on. Donald is always ready to go with the flow and even intentional sabotage is rarely enough to stop him.

The animation is pretty solid as always. The Living Popcorn routine with Donald was certainly animated pretty well. The scene where you see the initial Corn in the Cob transforming into popcorn is definitely solid. It is very detailed and shows the step by step process the animators went through back in the day. It’s a Disney special so I certainly expected as much from them.

Overall, This was a pretty fun special. It’s not nearly as good as most of the other ones as the plot is a bit thin and the nephews are too annoying but it’s solid nonetheless. I’d recommend checking it out if you like the Disney specials or if you just want to watch a high energy special for a few minutes. Something is always happening on screen and typically it involves a lot of running and smashing. We’ll see if the next specials can top this one.

Overall 6/10

Mickey’s Trailer Review

It’s been a while since I’ve seen one of the old Disney shorts. The Donald ones are typically the best but the team up ones are right up there as well since who doesn’t like an ensemble cast? Mickey and Donald have enlisted the aid of Goofy to travel somewhere far away. I assume they are going somewhere to deliver supplies or something. Goofy assures them that he can get the duo there in one piece and so begins their adventure. The Trailer is rather high tech as the click of a button can transform the rooms into just about anything. Of course, this can also be dangerous as Donald finds out the hard way. You could be relaxing as you finish off your dinner only for the table to suddenly turn into a bathtub instead of vice versa. Perhaps the tech has simply gone too far in this case.

On the other hand, some tech could have been useful later on when the trailer is unlatched from the car and the heroes go flying. If they had an electronic lock perhaps they would have been okay. I think it’s safe to say that Mickey played the biggest role in causing this to happen though. He forgot that Goofy was driving the car and later on Mickey was also the one who kicked the trailer away by mistake. The heroes probably shouldn’t have made lunch so early either though so that was on them. Of course the driver would want a bite to eat as well. At least wait until a lunch break or something. Goofy didn’t ask for this and he still managed to drive them safely back to base. Now that’s what I call a top notch driver.

Mickey’s role is a little small next to the others but we do get to see his solid soccer skills in time for the Word Cup. He kicked the Corn with precision and power into the pot. Meanwhile Donald does his best to cope with this place but it’s rough since nothing seems to work right for him. Donald never gives up though. Goofy is the one to feel bad for since the whole thing is hardly his fault. After all, why would you serve breakfast when you know that the journey is still on?

The animation is smooth and consistent as Disney always was back in the day. Everything is very clear and the character models are on point. Everything moves very quickly so I can only imagine how many frames it probably took to make. A lot of effort was put into this one for sure.

Overall, This was a pretty fun special. Naturally there is only so much that you can do in a few minutes but it’s an entertaining experience. Goofy gets a happy ending which is happy for his fans since that seems to be a rather rare occurrence for him. Driving the trailer for so long is definitely tough so he earned this one. If you like the classic Disney specials or just enjoy a light hearted comedy then you’ll enjoy this one. Either way it is only an investment of a few minutes.

Fortnite Battle Royale Review

It’s time to look at what could end up being known as the greatest shooting game of them all. The best part is that the game didn’t even need a huge budget or a AAA company backing it up. It’s a very simple shooter but one that adds in a very unique mechanic to separate it from the rest. Fortnite’s building gimmick is awesome. You’ll find yourself coming back to the game for another round constantly because you simply don’t want to stay away. That’s how you know that the game is rock solid.

There is no story here and no tutorial so you are thrown into the action right away. You fight against other players in 100 man free for alls, 50 teams of 2, 50 vs 50, and squads of 4. You can also form a solo squad to really test your mettle. The map is huge though so you will have plenty of time to practice at the start of each match as long as you aim for the edge of the map. Getting used to the mechanics will happen pretty quickly, mastering them is another bowl of potatoes entirely.

The gameplay is that of a 3rd person shooter with the Hunger Games backdrop. You land on the field with no gear besides your axe. As you traverse through the stage you can break just about anything for material and you will find a lot of weapons and ammo lying around. You definitely want to have a gun for later. The material will all be good for making forts, stairs, and other such constructs. You can use them as a shield or to give yourself the high ground in a fire fight. The possibilities are endless there but just be warned that what you build really stands out and may alert others to your position. The controls are customizable as you can mess with which button does what. The 2 main divisions are Builder Pro and Combat Pro. The main difference is in how you build objects with the former giving each type its own button while the latter has you shift through them. Both have their benefits.

To prevent players from simply hiding for the duration of the map, the stage slowly starts to cave in. You’ll see a large storm approaching from all sides and you have to stay in the safe part of the map. You can use the map to see where the storm is coming from and where it will stop. The storm will move for about a minute and then stop. The game always gives clear indicators of what the status of the storm is here so there is no guess work. It is still very easy to underestimate the storm though so be careful. As you run around you will also have to choose what your strategy is going to be here. Will you run to the circle and start fighting or head to the outskirts and only approach when necessary? I typically like doing the latter as you have time to pick up a great arsenal and are almost guaranteed to place in the top 30. The downsides to this strategy are the facts that you will likely get less kills this way and you will have given up control of the inner forts to other players. I think those are reasonable drawbacks so I stick to this plan but if that sounds bad then simply adopt a more aggressive approach.

It’s very satisfying to see a player approach and then snipe them from afar or jump over to them and start blasting. While playing the game you will quickly learn where everyone’s blindspots are. It’s also not like you’re fighting A.I. who will randomly know where you are. With other humans it’s just a lot more fun because they are actual players and will react as such. It’s all in real time so you have to try and put yourself in their position as you prepare to launch an attack. If the odds aren’t in your favor then you can also fall back and plan a retreat for a while. I can’t stress enough just how massive these levels are.

This also isn’t the kind of game that you can do justice to in a review. It’s just very well crafted. Even the fact that your characters will make a little noise if you step on the grass or run as opposed to crouching. If you crouch then you are basically silent but naturally the trek will last longer. As a result there is no soundtrack as that would make it difficult to hear these details. It does seem like you can use music as a weapon though or perhaps a taunt. Definitely a bold one since you are letting the world know where you are. On the flip side, you can also shoot in a random direction from time to time to keep the other players guessing. It can also work as a bluff if they think that you are in a firefight with someone. Getting the enemy to overthink everything will certainly help you in some way or another.

The graphics look pretty good. It’s fairly plain but looks weren’t the main focus of this title. Everything is quite clear though and that’s important for a game like this one. I like the animation for the terrain. At first it can be daunting to try and create a fort, but eventually you will get it down pat. The more you play the game the better you will get at it and the title never loses its charm. On average I always make top 20 in Solo and top 5 in Duo. It’s pretty nice, but at the end of the day you will want to grab the top spot. There’s just nothing like being able to say that out of 100 players you came in first.

Overall, Fortnite is a blast and has certainly earned its reputation of a legendary game. It’s taken the world by storm and rightfully so. It’s a rather basic game on the surface, but a creative one and that’s why it succeeds. As a result there isn’t much to say about it and yet you could talk for hours about why it is so fun. There is a deeper side to the game as well if you start analyzing the guns and memorizing the map. The more you think about the game the more you will want to play the game even more to test out your theories. The matches can be long or quick and you can leave at any time once you lose or watch through the eyes of another player to get more ideas. All the game is missing is a way to jump into a 100 man free for all with a friend but of course it’s easy to see how that might be exploited. It would be a blast though and I wonder if there is a way to do a 1 v 1.

Overall 9/10

Mercenary Tao vs Gohan

IMG_6222
Gohan is the legendary Saiyaman so it is safe to assume that he can defeat Mercenary Tao. Tao was a threat back in the old Dragon Ball days but since then he has basically gone off the grid. His power level just didn’t evolve along with everybody else’s so he was left in the dust. A quick energy blast would likely finish him off. Gohan wins.

Mercenary Tao vs Piccolo

IMG_6221
Mercenary Tao is a skilled hand to hand fighter, but he’s not ready to face off against Piccolo. While the Namekian may not have obtained many new power ups as of late, he is still a very formidable foe. He can destroy the whole planet with ease and Tao is just far too slow to stop him. These two fighters are in different leagues. Piccolo wins.

Frieza vs Pan

IMG_6209
Pan is a proud Saiyan Warrior but she hasn’t yet achieved Super Saiyan which will make it difficult to take down Frieza, much less his golden form. Frieza is now able to fight on par with gods of Destruction like SSB Goku. Pan just can’t quite match up to that level of power and will quickly be defeated. Frieza wins.

Mercenary Tao vs Goku

TaoAttacksGoku
Tao isn’t quite ready to handle someone like Goku quite yet. The Mercenary’s hand to hand skills are actually pretty decent but he can’t blow away an entire solar system the way that Goku can. The difference in their abilities is quite evident and I can’t see any possible way for Tao to last very long in this fight. Goku wins.

Mobile Update

f6528653e6b92e1c4e06c83ce0444f00
It’s been a month so time for the Mobile Update! Quite a lot has happened across the various apps so prepare for a big one! The biggest accomplishments were probably in Pokemon Go and Dragon Ball Legends but most of the games pulled their weight this time around.

In the Ladybug Adventures I have collected the rest of the stars meaning that I have achieved a perfect score on every single level. I also rounded up most of the stickers (Only missing about 10 but rng makes it very unlikely that I will get the rest) and even upgraded my Yoyo. I’ve essentially 100% completed the game at this point so I probably won’t have any updates for a while. The developers told me to stay tunes for updates though so maybe the game will get some more content soon.

In Fire Emblem Heroes I have obtained 8 new heroes. They are: Sheena, Tiki, Lachesis, Julius, Ishtar, Soren, Possessed Robin, and Xander. Some pretty big names there now so that’s pretty impressive. My collection is currently 126/259 characters. I also completed the latest story update. Things aren’t looking good for the heroes as always. At this point I wonder if they will ever get to take this villain down!

In Fruits Mania I completed the next 27 levels. They’re definitely getting trickier as that’s the slowest progress yet. I am now up to level 407. The fruits just keep on coming!

In Lollypop I completed the next 65 levels. I am now up to 644. I’m definitely a lot closer to the goal here as I have crossed the halfway point. Most impressive I have to admit. I’m slowly getting there.

Dragon Ball Legends has quite a few accomplishments since last time. I increased my Z level from 18 to 22. I obtained the next 4 characters so now I’m only missing 2. Level ups are quite easy so I won’t go into depth on any of those. Needless to say I have no character under level 130 anymore though and I finally maxed out one character, the main character Shallot at level 1000. The game’s definitely a blast and I hope they add more story chapters soon.

In Pokemon Go I finally evolved a Slaking. Now I have every Pokemon aside from Regional Exclusives and the Unknown. I also obtained a Shiny Tyranitar courtesy of Community Day. I maxed out Fearow and Rayquaza so those are 2 more Pokemon that I don’t need to worry about now. I caught around 3000 Pokemon this month which is pretty solid since that’s about 100 a day. It may seem like a small update next to some of the other titles, but I just won’t go into detail on every little thing. Hopefully we get one of the Regi Pokemon to show up soon.

That’s it for this time! Some games didn’t have any updates since I don’t have them downloaded anymore like Sonic Forces, Tekken, 1010, Marvel’s Contest of Champions, and a few others while other games I still have but simply didn’t touch. (Sword Art Online) We’ll see how the list looks next month so stay tuned!
